Over his last 6 starts, covering 29 innings, he'd only allowed 4 earned runs. It had to be a nice moment for Teheran and good friend Arodys Vizcaino as the latter came on in relief of the former, ptichign a perfect inning. The offense was good enough behind Teheran to allow the 20 year old to pick up his 12th win of the year, and they were led by Mauro Gomez, who had a perfect day with 3 hits and 2 walks. Over his last 10 games, Gomez is hitting .394 with a 1.130 OPS. Brandon Hicks had a 4 hit, 3 RBI day, and the fact that all 4 hits were singles goes to show how far he's come at improving making contact this season.  Tyler Pastornicky had a pair of singles, extending his hitting streak to 6 games, and he's gone 11-25 wit a double, 2 walks, and 2 stolen bases in that span. Matt Young had 3 hits and a walk, and after a 0-21 stretch he's gone 6-14 in his last 3 games.

After allowing 10 runs, 6 earned, over 2.2 innings in his last start, Randall Delgado had a nice comeback, allowing just 1 run over 7 innings while striking out 7. The 21 year old Panamanian has bee a little inconsistent this year, but his overall numbers have been great, as he's had a 3.84 ERA, a 1.38 WHIP, 8.9 H/9, 3.5 BB/9, 8.4 K/9, and 2.4 K/BB in 117.1 innings. Dan Nelson might have been a little overmatched at Gwinnett, where he hit .231 with a .663 OPS in 117 at bats, but he's more than holding his own with Mississippi, hitting .305 with a .782 OPS in 105 at bats.

Ryan Delgado had a 3 hit day, upping his average with the Hillcats from .200 to .357. It's been a strange year for the 23 year old, who's only gotten 58 total at bats while playing for Danville, Rome, and Lynchburg, combining to hit .224 with a .521 OPS. Eliecer Cardenas continues to absolutely dominate the Carolina League, with a 0.89 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 11.7 K/9 in 40.2 relief innings. He needs another shot at AA.

Carlos Perez had a fine start, allowing 2 runs, neither earned, over 5 innings, though walks still continue to be a problem for him, as he allowed 3 in this game and has given up 3.8 per 9 innings on the season. Still, the 19 year old lefty is on a roll, with a 2.19 ERA and a 1.38 WHIP in his last 5 appearances. Cody Martin continues to strike out nearly every hitter he faces, as the 21 year old righty has allowed just 6 hits and 2 walks in 16 scoreless innings between Danville and Rome, while striking out 24.

Wilson Rivera continues to be a strikeout machine, fanning 2 over 1.1 scoreless innings today, and 24 over 14.1 innings this season, good for a 15.1 K/9 rate.
