Still a 9 and will be unless the team absolutely falls apart.

First time this year moving from 7,

up a notch to 8.

Dropped to a 5

While the team is playing well as a whole, thanks to BMAC and our starting pitching, the fact that Fredi Gonzalez is behind the helm terrifies me. Wren has made a lot of poor decisions, giving Scott Proctor a roster spot being the latest egregious error.

Wren seems to really be failing on the details like hiring a competent manager or a proper hitting coach. The Proctor situation is just plain mind-boggling.

So, we have an average franchise? This is vomit-inducing.

Confidence level and the performance of the team are different things

Performance is a part of it, read above to find out what this confidence poll is.

When the guys pulling the strings consistently make bizarre and braindead decisions, the confidence in the direction and how they are going to handle our valuable assets is at an average level.

But you were just looking to zing me back about the yunel troll/vomit comment. Troll harder bro.

I’m well aware of what this confidence poll is, and anyone who votes less than a 7 for this organization is on crack.

Absolutely.

But we don't have a LF like Damon, or a 1B like Pujols

I’m standing by my 1.

Me and like 3 of my best friends all decided that if we could just add Lincecum, Cliff Lee, Troy Tulo and Ryan Braun, we would probably make the playoffs.

Wren has made a lot of poor decisions

Really? Care to expand on this point at all?

Just for fun can we do a Fredi Gonzalez poll with both quantitative and qualitative answers? I think we could really bring him down a peg or two.

by GumpBrave on Jul 4, 2011 4:11 PM EDT reply actions

I’m still at an 8, mainly due to Fredi still being the manager.

Agreed

Could be a 9 if Fredi wouldn’t be the manager

I started the season as a “9” and was really excited about Fredi coming to Atlanta. After 3 or 4 weeks of his not-so-endearing decisions, I have maintained an “8” solely because of him.

8 for now

But have you guys heard these leaked reports about the Braves acquiring Kemp and a RHP for Brandon Beachy, Nate McLouth, and two players to be named later?

I am 100% against any trade that sends Beachy anywhere.

I would give up Beachy and Teheran in a heartbeat, if it brought back the right player.

You're kidding, right?

Assuming those two PTBNL aren’t top prospects, that’s a steal for the Braves.

It’s complete BS though. Why would they have any sort of interest in McLouth? And Beachy’s stock isn’t high enough to headline a deal for a guy like Kemp.

by Undocorkscrew on Jul 4, 2011 5:45 PM EDT up reply actions

No, see above

They’re just not that good
/sarcasm.
While they are playing well for the moment, too many times this season they have been hot, only to go cold for the next couple series. If they can keep this up and start winning series consistently, and get rid of Proctor, then I will start moving up. I will say even with the hot and cold streaks, they have managed to stay in the race somehow and I still dont think Philly can keep up this pace for the whole season, at this rate they will win over 100 games. Their lineup is just too old to not lose some steam down the stretch.
