Just out of curiosity, what do you think the main influences are behind our call ups to the big club? It's funny to look back on now, but at one time I was the ring leader of the "Wilkin Ramirez for Pres." campaign. But after a couple stints without any real proof that he was/is ready for The Big Show pitching, he continued to be the man called back up in the last few transactions. Does it have to do with the number of options he has versus other outfielders in our system? Does management think he's the guy that's still most MLB ready? I'm just wondering, because it seems to me that Stefan Gartrell has more than proven that he's at least currently the player the Braves are/were looking for in a trade. A right handed OF with a little power. I know now they're looking for more of the lead off CF, but a RH OF bat is a necessity, also. I guess my point is this: After a month or so of Ramirez struggling to create any offense for the team, when do you start to possibly look at other options within the organization? Maybe Gartrell is the next coming of Gary Sheffield?! Or maybe he's the demon seed of Brad Kominsk, lol. You never know until he gets an opportunity.
