Depth for Depth
I do not mean to think that I am so special I should make a celebrated singluar performance of rosterbating, but I wanted to bring up a point I felt of importance. For all the Beltran, Pence, Rasmus, and Upton rumors one may desire, I think Wren would make the biggest impact by doing the same thing he did last year, solving two needs with one trade. I feel our primary needs our:
Potential Upgrade in Center or Short
Right Handed Bench Bat
RH Relief
Because I listed three needs, that does not mean it would take three players. The braves have enough depth in the minor leagues to where they can make a trade such as we did last year, or back in 2008 when we got will ohman and omar infante. Here is just a list of potential Combos we could go after...
Infante and Nunez from Florida
Spilborghs and Belisle/Betancourt from Colorado
Denorfia and Qualls from San Diego
Rajai Davis and Rauch, Fransisco, Frasor from Blue Jays
Crisp (Switchhitter) and Wurtz from Oakland
These are some worthy combos to look at. Of course, if the Braves want to make a splash, and at least insert a default answer for CF and veteran reliever for next year, go ahead and deal for Upton and Farnsy from the Rays and be done with it.

Oh Infante!
I would love so much to see him back with the team..
Thinking about him as a bench bat reminds me..
Off the bench he was something different than Conrad or Hinske
He is a high average type of hitter, and he gets the ball in play a lot.
That’s a real weapon off the bench as much as a home run guy.
Definitely would be a great club in the bag
so what I am saying is
the right handed bat off the bench we are looking for might be a slap hitter—something to compliment the bench we currently have
.261 .305 .324 .629 – Omar this season
.264 .310 .391 .701 – Omar every season before last season
No thank you.

what are you talking about?
in 08 he hit 293/338/416 (755 ops)
in 09 he hit 305/361/389 (750 ops)
and we know in 10 he hit 321/359/416 (775)
That’s a three year average of about 300/350/400
and those are his only three years in Atlanta
I’m talking about his career stats before his one outlying season last year in Atlanta.

which is retarded
and its not one outlying season at all—not even close..
after 2 seasons like that before handm you simply CANNOT call that an outlying season..
(And then say he otherwise hits 260 with a 305 obp..)
I guess there’s just something magical about that tomahawk across the chest that makes him a better player.

i am sure there is a perfectly logical explanation for it
maybe its that he was on an upward trajectory when we got him, he hadn’t hit below 270 in 2 or 3 years before we got him. We used him properly. Maybe we have a great psychologically minded bench coach, who knows.. The braves are good at getting the best from their players.
It pretty clearly is.
Do you not see his career numbers outside of that year?

Upton
He’s a player but the Rays aren’t going to let him go cheap.

Unless they're sick of him
and figure Jennings would fit in better. So, yeah, he carries a Buyer Beware tag too.
Well
The pads wants a top 50 prospect for Adams alone, and along with ludwick….we’d definitely cough up delgado or vizcaino, as Maybin is not even discussed as being dealt

an adams ludwick would be something like Schafer, Vizcaino, and probably like two B prospects or something
it would be a shitload. If youre going to give up that much, you may as well trade for Pence since he’ll give you more production on an everyday basis. I think our bullpen problems right now can be solved by bringing up some young guys.
More than Bell/Ludwick
Which should tell you all you need to know about how into Adams we should be
Hey! I’m new.

BP Help?
Braves Eyeing Rauch, Frasor
By Tim Dierkes [July 26 at 1:08pm CST]
The Braves “will continue to evaluate the possibility of acquiring either Jon Rauch or Jason Frasor from the Blue Jays,” writes MLB.com’s Mark Bowman. Bowman notes that the Jays want a significant return for either reliever, since they both project as Type B free agents and therefore could net supplemental draft picks. Both righties also have club options for 2012 at $3.75MM, so they’re more than rentals.
The Braves’ bullpen is fourth
in the NL with a 3.08 ERA, but the group also ranks third with 319 innings pitched.
Quick there's a thread from 3 days agao without this copy and pasted in it!
