Jurrjens was a sensation last night.

Your one-page daily morning overview of Atlanta Braves news:

Braves postgame quotes following Friday night’s win over Orioles | Atlanta Braves
Jair Jurrjens, on if he knew early it’d be a good night: "Since I had my slider the first inning, I knew ‘I’m going to have my stuff today.’ The slider was really good. I was able to backdoor it on lefties and throw it in the dirt for righties, and it made it a little easy when you have all your pitches working."

Chipper returns to Braves lineup | News
Braves third baseman Chipper Jones was in the lineup on Friday, despite his right knee flaring up again.

Prado takes BP, nearing rehab assignment | News
"I felt good. My swing is a little bit slow, but it's going to get there," Prado said afterward. "The hard part is going to be my legs. I might need a couple of days to work on it and start running around. Taking fly balls is the best way to get my legs in shape."

Gonzalez plans to use Venters differently | News
"We're just going to be more picky on when we use him," Gonzalez said. "Watch, we'll come out of these next 10 games with seven extra-inning games." Gonzalez said he will attempt to use Venters only when the Braves are tied or winning. He referenced a period when he pitched several times while the club was trailing as something he's going to try to avoid.

Braves deliver fun time for young campers
Pitchers Jonny Venters and Craig Kimbrel, and third baseman Brooks Conrad helped out June 21 in a free skills clinic for 104 Boys and Girls Club members at the Samuel L. Jones Boys and Girls Club in Decatur. "Personally, it’s just fun," Conrad said of the Junior Braves/RBI Youth Baseball League event. "I have kids of my own and I went to camps when I was little. I have a lot of good memories and hope we can give that to these kids. Whatever they get out of it is great. I can teach them about what I know and if they learn one thing from this, that’s what it’s all about."
