I recently attempted to post my honest (and heavily censored) opinion of Chip Caray on his FSS blog, and was repeatedly denied due to "offensive content". So I thought I would see what everybody on TC thought about ole' Chip.
Chip currently works for Fox Sports South and is a broadcaster on roughly 100 Braves games a year, which means you get the opportunity/misfortune of hearing him call play-by-play on the majority of televised Braves games.
I recently finished reading John Schuerholz' book Built to Win, in which he details how he came to the Braves with the mission of remaking the entire organization from top to bottom as a "Championship Caliber Organization." What is ironic to me is that the voice of the majority of Braves telecasts came to us after falling on his face during the playoffs and being fired by TBS.
So please take a second and respond to the poll below. Also, I thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's favorite/most hated of Chip's many eccentricities on the air. Is it "fisted", or the "Skip voice", the obviously pre-planned puns on player names, or maybe the open ended questions to no one in particular?
Thanks and I look forward to hearing everyone's thoughts.
