With Jason Heyward saying that his right shoulder is feeling better, the Braves believe he could begin swinging a bat again within the next few days. Still, it appears it will be at least another week before the 21-year-old right fielder rejoins the Atlanta lineup. "He's reported that he's feeling a lot better, so that's a good sign," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

Jason Heyward was eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list and play Tuesday, but the Braves’ young slugger had not swung a bat in more than two weeks and was probably still a few days from hitting off a tee. Braves third baseman Chipper Jones said he understood Heyward wanting to be healthy before he returns, but said the 21-year-old right fielder also needs to understand how important he could be to the Braves right now.
