Tomahawk Chops: Daily Atlanta Braves Clippings For Wednesday, June 8th

Seabass likes being home in Miami.

Your one-page daily morning overview of Atlanta Braves news:

Braves’ quotes after Tuesday win | Atlanta Braves
Alex Gonzalez, on living in Miami since played with the Marlins "I’ve got family, friends here. This was a big hit for me, and for us." "I can hit homers. I don’t want to try every time I go to the play to hit a homer, homer, homer. I tried to get a base hit, get on base for the big guys. Tonight he tried to come in and made a mistake."

Heyward, McLouth getting closer to returning | braves.com: News
With Jason Heyward saying that his right shoulder is feeling better, the Braves believe he could begin swinging a bat again within the next few days. Still, it appears it will be at least another week before the 21-year-old right fielder rejoins the Atlanta lineup. "He's reported that he's feeling a lot better, so that's a good sign," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said.

Chipper: Heyward would help, 100 percent or not  | ajc.com
Jason Heyward was eligible to come off the 15-day disabled list and play Tuesday, but the Braves’ young slugger had not swung a bat in more than two weeks and was probably still a few days from hitting off a tee. Braves third baseman Chipper Jones said he understood Heyward wanting to be healthy before he returns, but said the 21-year-old right fielder also needs to understand how important he could be to the Braves right now.

There is a lot more draft-related news (and clippings), and I'll have a separate review of all those stories later.
