It's day two of the MLB First Year Player Draft. The Atlanta Braves had one selection in yesterday's first round (of 60 picks, including all the supplemental picks, which seemed to be purely for the benefit of Tampa, San Diego, and Toronto). The Braves chose FSU left-handed pitcher Sean Gilmartin, who has since been compared to every successful finesse lefty to pitch in the Majors in the past 20 years, and Nolan Ryan.
The Braves pick at #85 in the second round today, and then every 30 picks after that until everyone gets worn out and they table the draft until tomorrow. Round two starts at noon. Use this as a space to talk about all our picks, and we'll have a recap of all the picks with scouting reports later this afternoon.
Expect lots of left-handed pitchers.
