SB Nation Atlanta Editor's Pick
Pick your All-Star rosters
Basic roster rules need to be followed: 34 players per team, every team must be represented. I've provided a list of worthy candidates below the jump, but don't feel confined to just that list. Also, play this without homerism, meaning you put the absolute best on each roster, not stacking the NL with Braves or putting crap on the AL so the NL would win. Enjoy!

I didn’t think you’d leave out Mark Teixeira and CC Sabathia.
Ryan's the name, Call of Duty and Braves baseball's the game.
Twitter: @RyanMarby
Why not?
He’s hitting homers, that’s about it. Sabathia’s not performing as well as everyone else I put on for pitchers.

Just can't
No way I can put on Howard and Rollins ahead of the competition. They’re just not out-performing their competition at the position.

Yeah but it’s a popularity contest. So I’ll be real.
Ryan's the name, Call of Duty and Braves baseball's the game.
Twitter: @RyanMarby
That's exactly what I said NOT to do
This isn’t a guess to match the real team, it’s to pick who YOU would want there. You seriously think Howard and Rollins are the best options in the NL?

I seriously think they’ll actually be there. If it’s who I want to there, then I want to pick those who would actually be there.
Ryan's the name, Call of Duty and Braves baseball's the game.
Twitter: @RyanMarby
Why?
The whole point is that the game usually doesn’t put out the actual best players in baseball. Here’s your chance to pick the best of 2011 for an All-Star game.

Knowing that All-Star rosters tend to get huge and bloated, I went with the following rules of thumb: Two players at each position (six outfielders) and 14 pitchers. I think rosters actually get bigger, but eh.
Arizona: C Montero, INF Roberts, OF Upton, P Kennedy
Atlanta: C McCann, P Hanson, P Venters, P Jurrjens
Baltimore: OF Adam Jones
Boston: 1B Gonzalez, P Beckett
Chicago (NL): SS Castro
Cincinnati: 1B Votto, OF Bruce
Cleveland: SS Cabrera
Colorado: P Chacin
Chicago (AL): 1B Konerko, P Humber
Detroit: C Martinez, C Avila, P Verlander
Florida: P Sanchez
Houston: OF Pence
Kansas City: OF Cabrera
Los Angeles (AL): P Weaver, P Haren
Los Angeles (NL): OF Kemp
Milwaukee: 1B Fielder, 2B Weeks, OF Braun, P Marcum
Minnesota: P Baker
New York (NL): SS Reyes
New York (AL): 2B Cano, 3B Rodriguez, OF Granderson
Oakland: P Gonzalez
Philadelphia: 3B Polanco, P Hamels, P Halladay, P Lee
Pittsburgh: INF Walker
San Diego: P Adams
Seattle: P Pineda, P Hernandez
San Francisco: P Wilson
St. Louis: OF Berkman, P Lohse
Tampa Bay: INF/OF Zobrist, OF Joyce, P Shields, P Price, P Farnsworth
Texas: 3B Beltre, SS Andrus, P Ogando, P Wilson
Toronto: OF Bautista
Washington: P Storen
There are a few guys that aren’t on this list that probably should be provided that the rosters are a little bigger, such as Tulowitzki, Ellsbury, and Pauley.
Rosters are 34 players for the All-Star game
There are typically more players because of injury issues and Sunday start issues for pitchers.

In that case, to bring each side to 34, round them out with dangerous pinch-hitters/runners/defensive subs.
OF Ellsbury
1B M. Cabrera
PH Ortiz
1B Teixeira
1B/OF Lind
1B Pujols (not that it matters now anyway, replace with McCutchen?)
OF Stubbs
OF C. Gonzalez
OF Bourn
