I only put the above mentioned league's best in quotes for practical purposes, I agree. Venters is arguably not only the league's best reliever, but I would dare say, maybe, just maybe, he's the leagues best pitcher!

I simply love the attention this fireballer is getting, and it is so well deserved, he seems like a great guy, great teammate, and we all know about his abilities on the mound. In my honest opinion, I do not believe he gets the attention he deserves, from a media standpoint; although, Venters is a setup man and not a closer. With that being said, it is extremely rare to hear from the media mentionings of non-closer, bullpen guys. So, I am really not sure he fully gets the respect he deserves from the media, closer or not, but I am sure he is more than respected among ballplayers. If he is not respected among ballplayers, for say maybe against an American League team or a hitter he has not faced before, I can say with 100% positivity, it would not take long.

From Venters debut, April 17th '10 (When he threw 3 scoreless Innings only allowing a hit and a walk while striking out 2) until the present day I have been emphatuated with this mans' pitches, the incredible movement, the velocity, and his ability to simply make grown men, professionals look like GCL draftees.

While threw basically 1 and 1/3 seasons Jonny has compiled a 3.6 WAR (Wins Above Replacement), and while this is outstanding, I do not think any stat, really tells a tale of his dominance, until like myself, and many of braves' fans, he is watched on a game to game basis.
