Braves Quote For The Day ... Interview With Minor Leaguer L.V. Ware

Stay connected for news and updates

The Lynchburg Hillcats beat writer Chris Lang interviewed Atlanta Braves minor league outfield prospect L.V. Ware last week. LV is always interesting to talk to, and he gives a great great interview. Here are my favorite answers, which really show the life of a minor leaguer trying to make it up the ladder:

Q: You had a small taste of playing in Double A last year. What do you have to do to get back there and stick there this time?
A: I’ve got to play my game and learn myself as a player. I’m a small guy, a doubles guy and a triples guy. I’ve got to keep the ball on the ground and use my speed. I’ve got to continue to play my game. I’ve got to cut back on my strikeouts and improve my walks, which is something I’ve been working on with Bobby (Moore) and Lou (Luis Salazar) a lot. When the time comes, hopefully I get the call to go back to Double A.

Q: You’ve been in Lynchburg for about a month now. Have you discovered any good restaurants, anything that you like?
A: Basically, all we’ve been eating is Subway. That’s about it. Someone recommended I go to Jade’s Place on Timberlake and try Famous Anthony’s. I’ve yet to get to them. Subway is our everyday meal, lunch and dinner.
