In the back of my mind, I can’t shake the feeling that we can’t finish strong, like we did last year

I disagree
Given what we have waiting in the minors, we have the wherewithal to trade for pieces necessary to finish strong. Compare rosters, last year and this year…no Melky, for one and a healthy Chipper for another.
And a Nate Mclouth who is finally back to within his normal offensive numbers. I checked his stats, and everything is looking on par with his Pittsburgh years. His BA is the second highest of his career so far this season, and his OBP is his highest. His power is down a bit, but I would like to think that will come in time. At least he’s getting on base regularly.

9...
Haven’t wavered.
I expect a bump in the overall confidence…

concur w/ this thought and rating.
You can already see the jump closer to an overall 8. It’s great that we are playing well but it’s merely regression to the mean. We are a great team that knows how to win ball games. I am willing to bet a good majority of the teams out there wish they could be us. We have a great MLB roster, incredible depth in the minors and the ability to make a move for just about any player on any roster.
GO BRAVES!

Though it's not just about one series...

If he calls another hit and run for Heyward with Prado on base, I might hire an assassin. I think that play is like 0-4 at least.
If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

Back up to an 8. Still some question marks in the bullpen, though hitting has started to come around, only 1 starter is hitting over .300. I will say Hinske and Ross have been stellar off the bench. We have to have the best starting rotation in baseball.
Minor league system still looking pretty good, but not a lot of hitting depth.
Fredi has concerned me over some of the moves he’s made, which I do believe has cost up a couple of games, but over the long haul I’m sure he’ll be fine. Only time will tell though.
Back to my preseason 9.
It had only dropped to an 8. Playing awesome ball right now. Braves could have easily won 15 of their last 16.

7.
Aside from The Nasty Boys in Venters and Kimbrel, and EOF pitching lights out, our bullpen still scares me. Mainly, bc I don’t have a great deal of trust in Fredi to use them effectively. Also, still want to see the Braves really take advantage against weaker pitching AND weaker teams like we should. I know every team is Major League caliber, of course, but we need series wins against The Natinals, Stros, Pirates, DBacks, and Angels coming up. Keep in mind I always try to temper my optimism on these polls, I’ve never voted above a 9.

Hasn’t changed since before the season.I honestly don’t see how the Braves aren’t considered a better team than the Phillies and Marlins. We’re proving that our rotation can hang with that of the Phillies, no question about it, and our offense is superior to theirs. The back end of the bullpen is stellar, though young and still fairly inexperienced. We have one very small weakness. We need one more bat off the bench. Hinske and Ross are awesome. Brooks could possibly get hot. We just need one more right-handed hitter that can come through in pinch hit situations, and we’re set.
We’ve got a General Manager that has built a team capable of contending right now, even though the real focus is on the future. All of our guaranteed contracts, except the one signed by Dan Uggla, are going to expire either this year or next. McLouth, Chipper, Hudson, Lowe and Kawakami will leave (I’m going to miss Huddy) and we will have money to keep our young core group of players in Atlanta for the long haul. It’s not like they’re leaving any time soon. Hanson, Beachy, Medlen, Heyward, Freeman, Venters and Kimbrel are all at least five years from free agency. Teheran and Minor will arrive shortly.
We have the ability to trade for whatever we need come the trade deadline, which is an awesome thing. Whether it be minor league prospects, Derek Lowe or Jair Jurrjens, we have the trade pieces to get a difference maker for the stretch run and into the playoffs. Or we could wait until the offseason. Either way, we’ll have the trade pieces and the money to fill the holes we’ll have in the outfield once McLouth is gone and Prado moves in to third.
Oh, and we’re 12-4 in our last 16 and have won 7 of our last 8.
This is my corn. You people are guests in my corn.
