Jacob Thompson had the worst start of any Braves pitchers all season tonight, as just 8 of his 26 pitches went for strikes, while he walked 4 and allowed 5 earned runs while only recording 1 out. Thompson has had a rough go in his first taste of AAA, with a 7.03 ERA, a 2.06 WHIP, 11.8 H/9, and 6.7 BB/9 in 24.1 innings. Jose Lugo relieved him, allowing just 1 run in 4.2 innings, and while he has a fantastic 0.77 ERA, but a fairly ugly 1.68 WHIP in 11.2 innings this season. Mauro Gomez just keeps on hitting. Stats don't even do his work justice. Stefan Gartrell extended his hitting streak to 5 games, going 7-20 with 2 doubles and 2 homers in that span.
