Story on Tim Collins
I wish we hadn't traded this guy away great strikeout numbers and was able to keep the walks down

agreed.
Didn’t like the trade then, like it worse now. At least we didnt trade him to our own division, or even to the NL.

Look at it this way
Atleast we got Rick Ankiel in return………

Hey wait just a minute there, bub!
Don’t forget Farnsworth! He was the key addition in the trade…oh wait.

Yep...
I hated it when I heard we traded him — I was fascinated by him from the time we acquired him.

Interesting story on his release point for different pitches

We didn't even know it
But we got a future RAYS closer in that deal!!! lol It does suck we lost him. Yunel was very possibly on pace to lose a few of the games Gonzo contributed into winning. Which means we may not make the playoffs, or have that uber sick acrobatic double play from the other day.
I love phenoms. Some of my favorite include Frason Freeward, Bratt Rymes, and Isaaron Murrell.

>implying yunel wasn’t at least equal to agon in the field
Considering that Escobar’s UZR/150 is less than half of Gonzo’s (3.2 vs. 7.4, respectively), that’s a fair implication.
>implying yunel isn’t a better hitter
At the time, he wasn’t. Maybe you don’t buy into the idea that he really needed a change of scenery, which is fine… but when the trade was made, Yunel wasn’t hitting very well. Maybe he’d have found his stride and started swinging again, or maybe he wouldn’t have. We’ll never know.
>implying yunel isn’t young and cost-controlled
Aside from the fact that he didn’t imply that, this is a completely irrelevant argument to bring to a conversation about what Yunel may or may not have contributed over the course of any particular season.

He's 28 and already in his arbitration years...
That’s not incredibly young, and he’s already making more than Sea Bass. Claiming that he’s cost-controlled when compared to Sea Bass is just plain wrong, as he’s virtually guaranteed two more raises.

It’s rough to sit through these games and not have someone that can’t hit a Ball?
