According to Matt Eddy of Baseball America, the Atlanta Braves picked up more minor league pitching depth today when they signed left-handed pitcher Jose Lugo, a former Rule 5 pick. He doesn't have pretty minor league ERA numbers, but he's definitely a strikeout pitcher. Click here for his Baseball Reference page.
On December 11, 2008, he was acquired by the Kansas City Royals in the Rule 5 Draft, and on that same day he was traded to the Seattle Mariners for cash considerations. He was sent back to the Twins on April 1, 2009.
