Padres land Quentin
Only TC related because a chunk of people have lobbied for him to be a Brave. Chicago got minor league pitchers Simon Castro, a right-hander, and Pedro Hernandez, a left-hander.

We could have beat that offer
Neither Castro or Hernandez is considered a top prospect
I don't mind, really
Quentin isn’t really a player they need. He’s got a solid .245. .336, .479 line over the last 3 years while missing 46 games a year on average and his defense is sickening. I can’t wait to see him roam PETCO, lol.

I completely agree as well
Although I do believe a change of scenery could do Quentin wonders, ubfortunately PETCO Park is NOT the scenery that he needed.
I’m thinking he most likely will be a deadline deal during the next years trading deadline, because by then I’m sure the Pads will be a long out of contention. Also. with that being said, when a team gets desperate for a power bat at the deadline, I am sure they can flip Quentin for a bit more then what they paid to get him.
So thinking along the lines of my last statement, I think was was a pretty good deal for the Padres, a relative win-win situation so to speak. If he does good and helps them win then great,if he does good and they don’t win then they can surely get more for him from a desperate team. Worst case scenerio he does bad, and they basically did not lose much when trading for him anyhow. So even speaking in terms of the worst case scenerio they will not be risking much of anything and really have nothing to lose in terms of this deal.
Sometimes I wake up grumpy; other times I let her sleep.

Why not PETCO?
Sure, we all know he sucks defensively, and the big park there will be tough for him, but the Padres obviously didn’t get him for defense. He has so much raw power that the bigger parks aren’t really going to hurt him as much as a lot of other players. He is still going to mash just fine there.
It will still hurt him because of it's size
whether it is raw power or not, a lot of hr he hit in the bandbox of US Cellular are just going to be fly outs at Petco
Chopmaster: my link is my dad who has watched the braves since I don’t know. he’s 56.
True but I’d be more worried about the 400 xbh he’s going to allow gimping around that massive OF.
