That guy is full of shit. Also said the Braves had a deal in place to land Jonny Gomes from Cincy. Don’t believe it.

Soria gives the Red Sox a solid closer although the Royals vastly overrate him. Living in the Royals home market I got to watch him a lot and his stuff really isn’t great. He has a very good curve but relies on hiding the ball to make his fastball look better then it is.

Jurrjens does give them a front of the rotation starter. Their staff is loaded with 4 and 5 type guys.

Scutaro gives us our 1 year stopgap at SS and Cain is the future in CF.

Now that Gio has been dealt and Danks signed an extension with the Chi-Sox, we clearly have the best SP thats available and should be able to do better than that. If not, wait to spring training and make sure all our SP are healthy before dealing him to another team that has a significant injury in their rotation.

I would ask for blocked 3B prospect Will Middlebrooks from Boston. That would be a coup for us… might require something else to be included from our end, but that would be fabulous.

Of course, I say this in deference to Lennox’ post above, and to the knowledge that rumors are right only .0000372% of the time. This one just sounds pretty decent… probably because the Royals are involved.
