There hasn't been a whole lot of action this off-season, if you're an Atlanta Braves fan. The team got a new hitting coach, a new assistant hitting coach, and supposedly a new method for preparing for games; that's an under-the-hood move that won't get many headlines, but it could have a huge impact on the team.
The Braves made a move early by dumping Derek Lowe for whatever salary relief they could get. They added a minor league reliever in the Rule 5 draft. Perhaps the biggest move they made was the non-moves of letting players walk. Alex Gonzalez was not pursued or re-signed. Peter Moylan and Brooks Conrad did not have their contracts renewed. It appears that the Braves will be content, at least for now, with making only minor changes and tweaks to the team, and using the players from within their system to fill the vacant spots on the roster.
There have been rumors, and everyone should know by now that the Braves have two prized trade candidates in Martin Prado and Jair Jurrjens, but there doesn't seem to have been any serious conversations with other teams about either player. Yes, they're checking in with other team, but nothing beyond that seems to have materialized.
So with these minor moves and many more non-moves how do you feel about the Braves off-season so far? Vote in the poll and chat in the comments.
