Michael Bourn Is Fast At Many Things
Not only is Atlanta Braves leadoff man Michael Bourn fast on the basepaths, but he is also fast in the batters box. Jeff Sullivan at Baseball Nation looks at the slowest and fastest average at-bat times over the past four years, and Bourn comes away a half second faster between pitches than any other player in baseball.
I'm not sure this is good one way or another, but it seems to be a trend that more leadoff-type players have faster times between pitches than sluggers. It's an interesting read, even if we don't know how to use that information just yet.

I knew I couldn't have been first to have that thought
My buddy and I just decided that the braves would be set if we could get Matt Kemp, Jose Reyes, and Albert Pujols.

Couldn't find a suitable video for...
Mike Hargrove, a.k.a., ‘The Human Rain Delay’. That data would be interesting.

I think this has more to do
with the fact that everyone is amped up at the beginning of a game and there are no runners on base so there are always less factors to lead off.
Just sayin..
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
