Best part
He now owns the Braves record for most SS awards received, having passed… Tom Glavine.
…And some guy named Murphy, but who cares about him.

You mean it hasn't been hacked already?
Looks like there’s 2 weeks between us and our next chance at an award. Bleh.

yawn
My buddy and I just decided that the braves would be set if we could get Matt Kemp, Jose Reyes, and Albert Pujols.

They said Martin was better, Soto was better, Mauer was better. Who’s still standing on top of the catcher mountain?

they said mac didn’t deserve it… who did for the NL?
Oh come on
next you’re going to tell me that Kemp didn’t deserve a gold glove.

didnt realize it but Montero did have a pretty nice season.

meh
it’s not as egregious as some of the GG’s. Mac has him beat handily in HR, roughly the same in OBP. Not to mention Mac suffered from his injury down the stretch, he would have handily won this had he not injured his oblique.
If Posey gets back healthy
Mac might actually get some competition next year to repeat this award. Nevertheless, congrats to B-Mac.
wont matter then
Cause Heyward will start a streak of his own.

Huh??
Mac was killing it before getting hurt. He still ended up with a great wOBA and wRC+ despite his late-season struggles…

It’s rough to sit through these games and not have someone that can’t hit a Ball?
i love brian
but that is ridiculous
look at miguel montero’s numbers
Who had an OPS+ of 121
to McCann’s 124?

umm..
Montero – .282/.351/.469 – 18 HR
McCann – .276/.354/.482 – 24 HR
So you’re saying Montero deserved it because he had a higher average?
I see.
Freeman isn’t on Heyward’s level in terms of tools, skills, or baseball IQ–but it’s fair to say Freeman has failed to meet the modest expectations in place for him - Capitol Avenue Club (May 28th, 2011)
huh?
I don’t recall those numbers for McCann…
Montero – 4.3 WAR – 36 doubles, 18 homers, .282 AVG, .351 OBP, .469 SLG, .820 OPS
McCann – 3.7 WAR – 19 doubles, 24 homers, .270 AVG, .351 OBP, .466 SLG, .817 OPS
I’m not sitting here saying Montero should have won it or not, all I’m saying is I don’t see the numbers for McCann that you posted above.
I don’t care if Constanza hit .500 with 30 HRs and 150 RBI in 3 weeks, benching Heyward was a stupid decision.

Whoops, I somehow took the numbers from September 17th of McCann's season.

I forgot how important RBIs are

Montero had a good season but it is only about the same as Mac’s season.

I’m proud of him. I really am.
I’m here to kick ass and drink sweet tea, and dammit, I’m all out of sweet tea.
No you aren't
You want him to fail. You want him to fail so bad that he falls out of baseball, gets depressed, and shows up at your door in the pouring rain with no umbrella. Desperate and lonely.

Of course not
That’s reserved for real ballplayers, like Ryan Howard.

My favorite thing about those commercials is that the players are wearing their team colors, but there’s not a single logo to be found…

Of course not
wouldn’t want to inadvertently advertise for the team. Not without them paying out the nose for it first.

They look goofy with their plain uniforms.
I feel like I have missed so much on here :(

You and me both
I quit when things started getting real petty and heated here just before midseason. Came back after game 162… it’s so much quieter and pleasant (relatively speaking) during the offseason.

We don't take kindly to quiet and pleasant 'round here!
If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

Petty and heated…sounds like just the time I would want to be around! I love to throw gas on a fire.

Me too
it wasn’t fun though. Just a lot of nonsensical bitching.

Team Batting MVP
McCann’s the bomb.
Anybody who thought Chipper was team MVP should apologize to Brian.
CONGRATULATIONS to BMac!
I’m glad he’s ours :-)
