Any interest in Murphy?

What about Daniel Murphy? If Prado truly is moved for prospects, or a left field option Murphy is a multi position guy who has a cheap salary. Unfortunately he is another lefty but the Mets have stated they are listening to offers on him.

Not a terrible idea, he could finally play 3B where his glove isn’t atrocious. Wonder what they would want to trade him within the division though.

I posted this possibility in the rosterbation thread days ago. While he does hit lefty, his splits against lefties aren’t awful and he actually hits really well against lefty starters.

If we can land [Stephen Drew], I will give FW a bj.

problem is what would the Mets want for him

especially out of a division rival like the Braves

He’s not really the type of player you worry about trading within the division. It would be somewhat similar to trading 2008 or 2009 Prado.

I still think they'd ask for a bit of a premium

compared to what they’d want from Colorado, Seattle, etc.

Do they have a legit SS prospect close to the majors? If not maybe something like Hicks and a low level arm, or with there need of pitching possibly they would like to give Redmond a shot along with a minor league arm. Redmond is never going to get a shot with the Braves.
