In case you were holding out hope that Billy Wagner would return this year, allow Ken Rosenthal to crush that hope:

Wagner's agent, Bean Stringfellow, told Wren about a week ago that Wagner finally had filed his retirement papers.

In other words, he will be taken off the roster soon.

"Yes, he is retiring," Stringfellow said.

In addition to missing a guy who still has one heck of an arm, I will also miss any reference to Bean Stringfellow.
