UPDATED: Photos / Sept. 1-2 @ Turner Field
My recent visit to Turner Field on September 1-2 to watch the Braves take on the Mets. I bought tickets to the on the field batting practice, and included a few of those as well. Smoltz made an appearance on 9/2 and it was nice to see him visiting with the guys. I took a ton of photos, and I am quite the amateur, but here a few to give you a taste of the games.

Edited to add the "Thanks Bobby" shirts photo.

Spared no expense, I see
Beautifully done!
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
Get any autographs while down on the field?

Never been an autograph hound, so even when we were tossed a couple of balls, we didn’t even have a marker and never asked. Some of the guys did come over and sign stuff for the waiting fans after they finished up their turns in the cage.
I shared this story before, will add again here:
Martin Prado broke his bat during BP. He came over to us fans on the field who bought tickets for BP and brought his now broken bat with him and gave it to a little boy standing there with his Dad. He signed the little boy’s baseball, the broken bat and then took the time to let his Dad take a photo of him with his son and then waited patiently as the Dad showed someone else how to work his camera so he could get a photo of the 3 of them together. It was nice to witness.

Awesome to hear. Martin was always a very nice, friendly guy when he was coming up, so it’s nice to hear that hasn’t changed with his success.
I wrote a novel, it's about baseball, you should buy it:

Thanks, we had them made. People at the ballpark seemed to like them.

Awesome!
My Smoltzie crush is slowly but surely coming back to life.
"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. Oh, and now that I've got to see the "new" Coke bottle in person....
I still prefer the old version. Took this in 2006.

Me too
But the old one required maintenance, and the new one essentially requires a hose to clean. Simplicity > tradition/symbolism, unfortunately in this case.
No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.
I understand the logic behind it.
Unfortunately, it seems tradition goes by the wayside too easily these days.
But then again, I’m not a fan of cheerleaders on top of the dugouts either ;-)

Chopper, these are excellent. You claim to be an amateur, but you’re a heck of a lot better than I am at this.
Of course, I love the Mac and Diaz pictures. But there are great shots of Prado, Hanson in mid-wind-up (with a sly Huddy on the right!) and that very nice one of Brooks dodging a pitch. They’re all pretty sweet.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
Beautiful!
Thanks for sharing! So glad you got to come to a game and get such fantastic shots. They’re really gorgeous – great seats/perspective! A little bummed you didn’t stop by and say hello, tho. I must really smell~
:)
Now, Lizziebeth – how would I know it was you? Oh right, dang I forgot to look for the keys! ;-)
I certainly would have if I had any clue who you were or at…. Forgive me?

Of course I forgive you
but how on earth could you miss this face?!! :D

Seriously, tho, I’ve been subbing for a friend in a volunteer capacity at the Ted since the beginning of July, for every home game except one. That’s why I haven’t been around TC much (every game, plus regular full-time job, plus out of town family duties; no freakin’ free time!). Thought it would only be for a month but it’s turned into the rest of the season (she fell and almost broke her neck). If I had been around a little more, I would’ve known you were coming and given you a better idea of who & where to look for. Ah well, maybe next time!
I’m just glad you had a good time, and the shirts are great!
Aww what a great photo of you and Leo! And, I never thought to look for a blue present (V8 slap to the forehead!)
Your photo reminds me, Hubby and I were walking around the Ted and went by the area where they do the radio show and Leo was in there there with the others at the time and they were on air. He noticed our shirts and pointed to us, smiling big. We pointed to them and back to him and mouthed the words… “Thank You Too!” and he grinned even bigger. It was a nice exchange through the glass of the booth.
Bobby Dews also noticed them while we were at BP and came over to us and laughing, said “Your Welcome” We shook his hand and thanked him too for all he’s done for the team.
Who knew wearing a shirt would give you so many head nods by fans, etc.
Bobby sure is loved and it was nice to see.
I hope to catch up with you next time we’re at the Ted.

That is just an awesome story about Bobby Dews. Love that guy.
Leo is just a fun guy to interact with as well. One day I saw him talking to the valets at the SunTrust entrance and then when I went through the entrance I have to go in, came out of the elevator and he was standing right there talking to a beer vendor. I said to him “you sure get around quick”, to which he replied, “when they start calling ‘cold beer’, you bet I’m gonna be the first in line!”. I’m still hoping I’ll come past him next week at the valet, just so I can hand him my keys and say “it’s the beige Nissan with the crack in the windshield” and see what happens. :)
Hope to meet up with you next time too!
Found some 2006 photos I took - brought back some great memories. 10/1/06 vs Astros

Glad you liked them. I remembered I took some photos at my last visit to the Ted and dug them up and thought I’d post a few. It was a great day .. and we won!
I don’t get to ATL very often, but from the date – it seems I tend to visit on the 1st day of the month for some reason LOL.
