Rotation the rest of the way
For the rest of the season, it seems like a few juggles are in order. We know the following:
at Pit: Lowe
StL: Jurrjens, Minor, Hanson, Hudson
After that it could get interesting. I think there are a few things to consider.
1) Hudson has to pitch against Philly. His recent "struggles" aside, you simply have to have your ace on the hill in those 2 series. In the current rotation, he'll miss both series.
2) Getting JJ an extra home start is doable, and should be done.
3) I think most of us would advocate Lowe getting skipped rather than Minor when possible, but for now I'm dismissing that as pie-in-the-sky.
Wash next week will be Lowe, Jurrjens, Minor unless Derek gets hurt tonight. His health doesn't affect Games 2-3 of this series though. Then we finally get an off day.
Without any juggling, and with the normal skipping of Minor that has become the pattern, we'd finish like this:
at Mets: Hanson, Hudson, Lowe
at Philly: Jurrjens, Minor, Hanson
Off day
at Wash: Hudson, Lowe, Jurrjens
Fla: Hanson, Minor, Hudson
Off day
Philly: Lowe, Jurrjens, Hanson
Better would be:
at Mets: Hudson, Hanson, Lowe
at Philly: Jurrjens, Minor, Hudson
Off day
at Wash: Hanson, Lowe, Minor
Fla: Hudson, Jurrjens, Hanson
Off day
Philly: Lowe (or Minor), Hudson, Jurrjens
Starting the series at Citi with Timmy rather than Tommy fixes most of the problems, and replacing JJ with Minor for the last game in Washington doesn't change the total number of starts anyone gets, so it seems prudent to get JJ one more at home.
They could even swap Lowe and Hanson in the series at Washington if you wanted to get Tommy up for a Phillies game.

Its really too bad KK didn’t do better than he did in his spot start because we could have had a 6 man rotation going down the road.
Of course everyones like huh? A six man rotation?
but you have to remember:
1.Hudson is a year removed from TJ surgery and was supposed to be having his innings watched anyway.
2. Minor is a rookie in his first full season of pro ball and should theoretically be shut down soon as well.
That basically leaves Jurrjens, Lowe, and Hanson as the only guys who’s innings really shouldn’t be monitored to heavily this season. If anything Jurrjens should be getting more starts and some other guys getting rest with him having missed 2 months of the season.
as I said its too bad because Kawakami could have brought some much needed rest to our starters down the stretch. I would much rather miss the playoffs this year and instead start another 14 year division winning run with a healthy strong core of SP instead of risking injuries to these guys.

Well thats what I mean. He was already in Bobby’s doghouse now I doubt we even see him if we are getting blown out 18-0 in the 4th inning

I was thinking about this earlier today
and I agree with you to a degree. My only change would be to not swap JJ and Minor in the Washington and Fla series’. This would put JJ starting the 1st game of the last Philly series, Huddy the 2nd, and either Lowe, Minor, or Hanson on 3 days rest for the last game (depending on how desperate we are for a W with the Hanson on short rest idea).
Should we make the playoffs and draw the series that starts on Wednesday the 6th, Hudson would have to go on short rest to start game 1, but JJ could go on a regular schedule in my scenario, and we could start Huddy game 2. Under your plan, neither Hudson or JJ would be ready to pitch if we drew the series that starts on Wed. If we were to draw the series that starts on Thursday, Hudson could start on normal rest, but this series would require a 4 man rotation if we don’t use anyone on 3 days rest due to the back-to-back games 1&2, and 3&4.
I know setting up the playoff rotation isn’t as important to think about right now as just winning, but 1 simple switch to your proposal keeps everything in line for having our best pitchers on the mound in the critical games with the Phillies, and hopefully beyond.

I agree
Skip over Lowe and put in Minor against the Phils. The kid may be young but he has some nasty stuff.
