Let's Go Braves!
Let’s beat up on the Marlins tonight! Also…I’m praying for a miracle from Dave Bush tonight…
Let's get JJ
his first win on the road. Go Braves!!!!!!!!
Atlanta Hawks=the team that drafted big $$$$$$$$$ instead of big men.
do u think they are gonna move chapman back to the rotation next year now that he’s done better at fixing his location
by forgotten_glory on Sep 4, 2010 6:43 PM EDT up reply actions
It depends on if they need him in the rotation next year. I would assume yes. He could be the next Randy Johnson.
by romone_braves91 on Sep 4, 2010 6:45 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah..
I think so. When you control this guy for the next six years, I’m thinking 5 years of value from SP + 1 year of Injuries (let’s just go ahead and say Tommy John) trumps 6 years of working out of the Bullpen.
I hate the Phillies so much...
I'd think a David Price like deal...
where he kills out the bullpen for the stretch run, then starts next year back in AAA to work on his change up and being more efficient with his pitches (and delay his arb clock).
She’s alright, I guess. I mean, not bad for a mom. HA.

best part...
Therapist: Frank, this is a safe place. A place where we can feel free sharing our feelings. Think of my office as a nest in a tree of trust and understanding. We can say anything here.
Frank: Anything? Well, uh I guess I, deep down, am feeling a little confused. I mean, suddenly, you get married, and you’re supposed to be this entirely different guy. I don’t feel different. I mean, take yesterday for example. We were out at the Olive Garden for dinner, which was lovely. And uh, I happen to look over at a certain point during the meal and see a waitress taking an order, and I found myself wondering what color her underpants might be. Her panties. Uh, odds are they are probably basic white, cotton, underpants. But I sort of think well maybe they’re silk panties, maybe it’s a thong. Maybe it’s something really cool that I don’t even know about. You know, and uh, and I started feeling… what? what I thought we were in the trust tree in the nest, were we not?
LOL

I'd assume Vizcaino...
goes 2-3 innings max. Interesting that Teheran is back in the rotation after being skipped. I’d assume he’s kept to a low pitch count too.
Let's try this again...
see the header that says “starting”? He’s starting. Doesn’t mean he’ll go deep, probably 2-3 innings max, but yeah, he’s starting. He started a few days ago and went I think 1 inning, maybe 2.
Does anybody realize that none of our trades have worked out the way we thought it would? The only one that is decent so far is Sea Bass. The key to baseball is apparently to stay in house until a can’t miss trade rolls along.
well,
we now need another playoff rotation pitcher and we traded Vazquez away… 50/50

But has now corrected itself. Well, that lifts my spirits.
Iowa won today!
So we can all celebrate that at least!! Right??

yea
until the national championship game when they get blown out by whichever SEC school that makes it
Because 50 or less isn't cold?
And it must be nice not to play in 90s with 90 humidity. Or to play schools in the MAC 4 times a year.
And an SEC might get the chance...
if Big 10 schools weren’t too chicken shit to agree to a deal. Georgia in the least has pursued a home and home with Michigan and Ohio St, but told no.
It's not about being Chicken Shit
College football teams will accept those kind of deals if the money makes sense, it’s honestly all economics, so I’ll assume that it’s the SEC wanting to take a bulk of the money

When was the last time Iowa or Wisconsin ended their season being in the top 10? I am not a Big Ten expert by any means (hell I hate the Big Ten due to my Pac 10 ties.) So I can care less who is better than who. All I know is they have a helluva a hard time winning the Rose Bowl or National Title.

one of y’all will lose to Central Michigan or Northern Iowa. And our directional schools actually tend to have talent since most take nonqualifiers, etc.
Yeah but Ole Miss is not that great anyway. This year it’s Bama, UF, LSU, Georgia, and Auburn. The others are question marks on a year to year basis.

Ken Rosenthal reported this, anyone else see this, got it from MLBTR
The Braves may pursue their top candidate — believed to be recently fired Marlins skipper Fredi Gonzalez — prior to the end of Bobby Cox’s tenure. If the Braves make a deep playoff run, they may look to lock down Gonzalez before other teams, such as the Cubs, can get their hands on him.

But he knows Braves baseball
And he knows the players already. It would be the easiest transition from Cox
Disagree
I think he’s a great manager, and a lot of Braves ties coaching in the minors and majors for us, he’s my top choice by far.

There are no great managers
Everyone does the same things. There is no need to go acting like Gonzalez is different from Piniella is different from the dude you have coaching at Gwinnett.

Not at all.
Managers are the biggest slaves to CW and “The Book” in the world. None will use their closer in a tie game on the road. All of them call an IBB with second base open and less than two outs. It is possible for managers to be innovative and brilliant, but no current MLB manager bothers.
Maybe the players like Bobby better
In terms of in-game strategy, none.

Yes, but have plenty of family in N Fla...

and you are showing your age. Zook had enough time to recruit his players, and who do you think Meyer’s 1st title was with? A lot of Zook recruits. He recruited well, he was just a moron that also liked to attack frats.

So neither Hanson nor Jurrjens...
will have a true complete game under Bobby (that little 5 inning mess don’t count).
true...
just saying both have had plenty of opportunities for one. just one, between the two. you know if that 5 inning game went 9, Tommy wouldn’t have one.
Like last week for example. Hanson could’ve easily had a shot at 9. Are you talking about the rain shortened loss against the Mutts for the 5 inning game?
Carpe Diaz
JJ has had his chances too...
not exactly tonight, but he had been rolling late. And he’s had a few with under 100 going into the late innings cruising and gotten pulled. But save ’em for the next guy.
They’re young. Bobby wants to save their arms.

I thought the rule was if the ball hits in fair ground and passes over the base, it fair regardless of landing in foul ground.
Of course Dan Uggla would come up as the tying run...

I am not upset at the Brewers
seriously with us going against Johnson and the Phils putting Halladay out there all signs pointed to us being tied right now…. but the Braves are still in 1st so it is a good night.
Not going to lie
I am shock that we beat Josh Johnson. Everything click tonight for the Braves. Great win. Let’s get em tomorrow for the series Win!

i hope we wont see this ump anymore
his k-zone really sucks, because of him we had 15 ks tonight (highest in a 9innings game)
Maddux didn’t need a big strike zone.

Well...
He was a master of widening the strike zone…because he could hit his spots. And in the 90’s, the strikezones were a lot wider than they are now. Because he didn’t have power stuff, his numbers wouldn’t be quite as good in today’s game.
