Atlanta Braves Postseason Pace

Stay connected for news and updates

For the rest of the season we'll keep a daily tally of the Atlanta Braves chances of making the postseason, along with daily commentary. Also consider this a daily open thread for general chatting.

NL East W L PCT GB STRK Magic Num Playoff Odds
Phillies 88 61 .591 - W6 11 98.5%
Braves 85 64 .570 3 W2 17 81.3%

Tim Hudson's mastery returned yesterday much to the Braves delight. Is it now too much to ask Derek Lowe to continue the mastery of pitching that he showed during his last start? Dare I say the s-word in describing today's game.

National League Wild Card Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
Atlanta 85 64 .570 0 Won 2
San Francisco 83 66 .557 2 Lost 2
Colorado 82 66 .554 2.5 Won 3

No point in putting St. Louis on the Wild Card standings anymore. The Giants and Padres swapped places again in the NL West, so we are once again in front of San Fran instead of San Diego, and because of that, and because of the difference in games played between those teams, we actually pick up half a game for our Wild Card lead -- neat.
