Phillies@Dodgers OT 8/31
The Phillies game starts in under 10 minutes, and Ben hasn't posted about our game yet, so use this to chat about the Phuckers/Dodgers if you so choose.
Meanwhile, we won big, and DRoss is yet again, awesome. I also love how on his triple, SNY was excusing it to Beltran's legs. Yes, he could've caught it, but you have to give Ross credit for running all the way.
mvhsbball says: Also, keep an eye out for MLBTR. There's a chance Glaus may be moved

Other games of note:
Cliff Lee got rocked by KC,
Haren vs. King Felix out in Seattle
Det and Min in a good, close game
Col/SF has two young studs pitching

there’s a chance Troy could get moved tonight. If I’m FW, I’d make the move if we got a B+ prospect.

he had a monster fantasy year, last year and he’ll be even better this year. Brees and Rodgers are the only QBs first round worthy.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb

Rodgers is better for fantasy than Manning. Had more points last year and will have more this year.

you might have gotten Schaub your next pick. Same thing with Martin Prado in fantasy this year. ehh, dont be fooled by brees's huge year
they’ve had a better running game than NE.Brees will prolly produce more, but there a chance they get figured out, and that their TDs are rushes where u can bet the Pats wont be pounding it in much
Yea
dont be fooled by the guy with the most yards since 2006
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
damn i wanna smash someone's face with a brick
Im not withholding props from Brees he is the better player. The difference is Pierre Thomas scoring rushing Td’s inside the ten. The saints more balanced, someone predicting a rebound for Brady to Moss might say Brady would throw a few more TDs
Brady had a good year last year.
But he’s not better than Brees last year or the year before, and wont be this year either.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
ok
then you agree with me, but not with whoever’s rankings those were 100 posts ago
No, you threw in the possibility that teams with "figure" Brees out.
Like I said, it hasnt happened in 4 years, no reason to suggest it will this year.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
YES i threw in the possibility to explain that viewpoint, which i stated THREE TIMES was not mine. People love to read selectively and put words in people’s mouth here. And what kind of dick has to post what you just posted that I am replying to right now after I tried to say “ok, we agree” and end any dispute
I didnt read selectively
Your point was to suggest that the Pats offensive system is more conducive to production.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
no it wasn't
I said brady had a small chance to outproduce brees, because the pats cant run in the red zone, and that i still thought Brees was better and the better fantasy pick. Brees has never thrown for more than 34 touchdowns, that’s not impossible for Brady to far surpass, since he’s thrown for fucking 50
as a pats fan. no heās not, but in the system he has a chance, if a small one, to be more productive
ehh, dont be fooled by brees’s huge year theyāve had a better running game than NE.Brees will prolly produce more, but there a chance they get figured out, and that their TDs are rushes where u can bet the Pats wont be pounding it in much
The first is your OP and then the 2nd one is your response asking if the Pats Offense is more conducive.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
exactly
first says brady isnt better, has only a small chance of outproducing brees.
second says brees will prolly produce more
how can you not see that?
You snub Brees in both posts.
Regardless what you say in the middle you immediately follow it up with a counter to your own supposed support for him.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
thats literally one of the stupidest assessments i've ever heard in my life
My 1st post starts by answering the statement, “No way Brady is better than Brees” by saying “no, he’s not” That is not a snub of Brees, only a retard could come up with that interpretation
Haha, inspite of what you were trying to do.
You had addendums to both.

haha
way better. what a homer.
The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
Ok

I don't think he's
way better… I like Brees… and I followed him when he was at Purdue too… I just don’t understand how you can possibly have a real argument about him being better than Peyton when almost every objective statistical evaluation goes to Peyton…
“On a per-game basis, Manning’s WPA is +0.22 Wins/G, and Brees’ is +0.16 Wins/G. Manning’s EPA per game is +7.1 Points/G, and Brees’ is +4.4 Points/G”
Then there’s those 4 MVP awards.. he has a higher career QB percentage… Peyton’s never missed a game… Higher TD%… Higher TD+… Higher Cmp+…Higher Rate+…
What do you want?
Go USA, Braves, BU Terriers, Irish, Caps, Colts, Hoyas, NU Cats, Wizards, DC United, Washington Freedom
BU Hockey: National Champions 1971, 1972, 1978, 1995, 2009
no Mannings is indeed Way better than Brees
Brees is a great QB, Peyton is a historically great QB
Jason Heyward...great guy
Manning has also played 3 more seasons.
You cant compare careers. Its like comparing Steve Carlton to Nolan Ryan.

You can't compare total career numbers...
You can certainly compare average career numbers, they both have big enough sample sizes.
Go USA, Braves, BU Terriers, Irish, Caps, Colts, Hoyas, NU Cats, Wizards, DC United, Washington Freedom
BU Hockey: National Champions 1971, 1972, 1978, 1995, 2009
Yardage wise
Brees is hurt by 2003 but his career average is 3803 vs Peyton’s 4180. TD/INT 25-13 vs 30-7. Accuracy is identical and Peyton with the slight edge in Rating.
Brees was killed by San Diego. I have no issue with Peyton being No.1, but the nonsense that its hands down, is silly.

way better?

I wasnt directing that last part at you.
It was a general statement mainly made in response to KING and whoever else made that kind of case.

Judging the best QB ever by one game
That’s classy
"A good friend of mine used to say, This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains. Think about that for a while." - Ebby Calvin "Nuke" LaLoosh
FWIW
People try to do that to Marino all the time.

who will be the next arm blown by Dusty Baker?
Travis Wood, Mike Leake or Aroldis Chapman
Chapman may succeed in blowing it on his own.

You’re talking about extremes (I presume) because there have to be plenty of times 1 run games (ie 1-0 or 3-2) flip flop between days

Yea, I wasnt completely clear.
Like a complete hammering of one team(i.e. 15-0) and then its reversed the next night.
