Cool Photo

Very rarely would I post a photo of a Yankee's team and call it a 'cool photo,' but this one is pretty cool. Try to see how many managers you can name. Click on the photo for a larger image. (Tip of the cap to Rowland's Office)

Might have been easier to ID who wasn't a manager..

Yogi Berra- Mets, Yankees
Lou Piniella-Reds, Yankees, Cubs, Mariners, Rays
Bobby Cox- Braves, Blue Jays
Dick Howser- Royals, FSU
Bucky Dent- Yankees
Ron Guidry- Yankees Pitching
Willie Randolph- Mets
Don Gullett- Reds Pitching
Gil Patterson- Blue Jays? Pitching
Billy Martin- Yankees, A’s, Twins, Rangers? Tigers
Chris Chambliss- Hitting coach for Reds?

Good List

Wasn’t Tidrow a Pitching Coach somewhere as well?

by theatlfan on Aug 23, 2010 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Sparky Lyle is managing in the Atlantic League
Chambliss has been a Major League hitting coach a few times and is currently managing for the Charlotte Knights (White Sox AAA)

The answer is...

According to my boss Figueroa is, or was at one time, the only player in MLB who had all 5 vowels in his last name.

Munson makes me laugh, cause a few years ago when the Yankees AAA team was in town the park was filled with the typical clueless Yankees fans. One guy saw that my buddy and I had cards and he’s like, “You guys are getting autographs?” “Yeah.” “You got any Munson?” “Who?” He repeats, “Thurman Munson,” like we’re idiots. Why the hell would I have cards of a guy who died before I was even born with me at a AAA game?

Seriously. I wonder how many guys in New York have gotten laid off of lying about being one of those randoms.

I posted a FanPost for a Gamethread, in case you wanted to help keep the thing going.

The base paths belonged to me, the runner. The rules gave me the right. I always went into a bag full speed, feet first. I had sharp spikes on my shoes. If the baseman stood where he had no business to be and got hurt, that was his fault. -Ty Cobb
