1991 World Series
Do any of you folks know where I could get copies of all 7 games of the 1991 World Series? I don't want a condensed highlight DVD. I want the complete games as they aired on TV...with all the drama and suspense over every single pitch. My 16-year-old son is a Braves fan, but he has NO idea what it was like being a Braves fan during the "Worst to First" days. I would love to sit and watch that heartbreaking series with him at some point. Thanks for any help.

Looks like you'll have to wait
MLB has been releasing “Collector’s Edition” DVDs with all the uncut games, but it doesn’t appear the 91 series is out yet.
Here’s the Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/1991-Minnesota-Twins-World-Collectors/dp/B0028RY3JC/ref=sr_1_4?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1282577841&sr=1-4

I think you can buy it on iTunes, but I’m not sure.

Greatest Series ever, even if the Braves did lose.

Yup.
I’m surprised at how little people talk about that series. It had everything you could want in baseball games!

But the Yankees weren’t in it…
I wrote a novel, it's about baseball, you should buy it:

There weren’t even close to a WS around that time.
Seriously though, if that were a Yankees/Dodgers WS, they would still talk about it all the time – like they do every other Yankees championship.

If the last game had been played ar FCS there would have been a Braves victory.
The home team won every game, and – of course – the Series concluded at the Homerdome.
A HELL of a Series!
Also, somewhere in the depths of a dusty storage shed I have a VHS tape of the fifth game of the ‘92 NLCS rematch between Pittsburgh and Atlanta – featuring a dour Doug Drabek, the skinny Elvis (Barry), a smooching – through – a – chainlink – fence Bobby Cox, a gimpy – but – he – made – it Sid Bream, Steve "Blink and you’ll miss me" Avery, and Jose “BOOTED BY LIND!”

Are you referring to "Buy A Vowel"' Hrbek's first base antics?

thank you
I’m glad more Braves fans are aware of their cheating and manipulation besides me. We need to further the knowledge that this happened, that we basically got screwed that entire series; not just on calls by the umps, but also by the damned ventilation system among other things. We didn’t lose in 1991, we got cheated.

I dunno, bro, it's the same air for everyone.
I missed the “VentilationGate” aspect of it. If you’re saying they chilled the air so the Braves were “unconditioned” by it…well, 10 minutes ought to give you an idea about the ambient temperature in any area.

No, they admitted...
or at least whoever was in charge, admitted, that they’d blow the A/C in hard from the OF when the Braves were at bat. And shift it to blowing out when the Twins hit. Doesn’t seem like much, until you consider Puckett making the catch that was a few inches/feet from a HR, and their’s that barely cleared the fence.
You mean first basement AREN’T allowed to physically lift a player off the base? No way!

This
I had been a Braves fan since moving to GA in 1985, but my fandom was not truly inspired until we went “Worst to First.” The rest is history.
What is both surprising and delightful is that spectators are allowed, and even expected, to join in the vocal part of the game.... There is no reason why the field should not try to put the batsman off his stroke at the critical moment by neatly timed disparagements of his wife's fidelity and his mother's respectability. ~George Bernard Shaw

Thanks Dutch
I almost feel like a traitor buying something “celebrating” the Twins victory.
If and when it comes out…
I will tape over the cover and call it either:
A) “Lonnie Smith Runs to Nowhere”
B) “Hrbek is a #%^*(&^ Cheater”
Another title:
“Thanks Charlie Leibrandt!”

Ugh
I remember walking out of Fulton County Stadium after the 12-5 win to go up 3 games to 2…
and seriously thinking that there was NO WAY we would go back to Minnesota and lose BOTH games.
God that hurt.
got to say that i have them on vhs..
i was 16 at the time and getting in trouble at school, so as punishment my dad didn’t let me watch the first two games, so i taped them and the first two games were so good that i continued to tape them all.. few fishy calls against us but the best series i’ve ever seen.
How much do I have to pay?
Now that the market is flooded, that is…

i moved so much in the late 90 and early 2000 that i storage them at my parents. But they moved a few years ago and i forgot all about the my boxes. After you posted this i remember those tapes and suddenly i wanted to get my hands on those boxes again. My mother called me last night and told me that she found the boxes, and that seven vhs tapes marked Braves-Twins were in one of them. So the first step, which was to find them again is completed. I won’t be able to go get them until mid September, but i already made arrangements to take them to a place where they can be formatted to dvd. HalleyGator, as soon as i get them on dvd i will post something here on the web-site , and since it is to educate your son on the braves history, you just pay for the shipping and will take care of the rest.
That’s a good TCer right there!

Woo Hoo!!!!
THANKS!!!!
I enjoyed educating him the other day on the 1984 Braves-Padres epic brawl!!
I found footage on youtube…and it showed Chief Nockahoma’s pregame rain dance and him running to his teepee in left field. He had NO CLUE what this was all about! Oh how times have changed!
