Ok, Dempster is at 92 pitches....
….so he’s likely going one more inning. After that, it’s Marmol. I think that’s the only shot they’re gonna have to score. If they can be patient against Marmol, he could very well implode on the mound.
Such a frustrating game…..

They got a nice start...
Evans and a lot of talented young bigs (Casspi, Cousins, Landry, Thompson, Whiteside). If they hit on 2 or 3 of those kids pan out to go with Evans, that’s pretty solid. Still need some perimeter players to go with Evans, but the front line certainly has promise.
they have potential

Why, because the Cubs scored once the first time through the order, once the second time through the order and once the third time through the order??

It’s rough to sit through these games and not have someone that can’t hit a Ball?
no,the pitcher gets more tired every time through the order and the hitters get more used to the pitcher

Well, on the bright side.......Prado, Lee, and McCann in the 9th.....
….if we can hold them here. 3 patient hitters…. Marmol can let a game get out of control very fast….
Sounds like the recipe for a comeback…..maybe Lee can be the hero?

The braves didn't choke - Bobby Cox did. He should've never been hired - much less still be destoring the Braves. Joe Torree's "Ace" was Rick Mahler. Just think what he could've done with those 14 division chamnpionships and Greg Maduxx, Tom Glavine and John Smoltz if he would've had the chance. And when he did have the chance, he outmanaged bobby Cox's @#$% at every turn. Or have you forgottenn that the Braves became the first time in baseball history to lose the World Series whenever they lead 3- 1? And whom did the lose too? The superior Joe Torre managed New York Yankess - that's who.

You guys can complain about the offense all you want....
….while I tip my cap to Dempster. He’s got a nasty slider and he threw a great game. Why isn’t the opposing pitcher ever credited when they shutdown the Braves?
because it happens every single time we r away, so maybe that says something…
by forgotten_glory on Aug 20, 2010 4:34 PM EDT up reply actions
Because, by virtue of being OPPOSING pitchers, they’re not wearing Atlanta Braves uniforms. Therefore, no performance based credit can be awarded. It’s in the rules.

but as usual, we make NO adjustments
It’s one thing when Randy Johnson is blowing inside fastballs by you. Tip your cap and chalk up a loss. But we seem to get worse against pitchers who we should be improving against as the game progresses.
