Oh, man. A co-worker and I were talking about SLC today at lunch. We’re trying to suss out the plot. I think Brian is a part of a secret cabal in charge of collecting and protecting the world’s most precious artifacts. He works closely with other SLCs in cities across the nation. To wit, Joe Mauer is in charge of the circulation desk at the St. Paul Metropolitan Library and Buster Posey would oversee the classics department at San Francisco’s central library. They’d all be part of the network. There’s always some caper involved, and perhaps a shadowy group bent on world domination.

We have traded away great players for less than nothing and let Texierra walk away, and much much more so pray that Hayward is sent from God and that his energy can ignite the veterans and cause the younger players to hustle more and play winning baseball...

I was late too, was watching but not online. Preparations for my guy coming home tomorrow! He’s been gone since the 2nd. Needless to say, I’m ready for him to be home.

Btw - from St Louis
Ankiel is great, and he will enhance the entire clubhouse. He’s got a great arm and good range, and will find his bat again.
I cant find video of it but he threw out two guys at third in one game. Epic.
thanks for the good words

both are for respectable reasons, but that’s gotta be terrible…at least yours are opposite divisions
''We cover the outfield like kudzu covers the land around here" - Bobby Cox, 2004
Which is fortunate because we don’t have to face off very often. I don’t like having to make the Braves my enemy-of-the-week. I like them too much for that.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
so lemme ask
what’s your affiliation to both? why two teams?
''We cover the outfield like kudzu covers the land around here" - Bobby Cox, 2004
Because of the great banter we have over here on TC.

The Giants are the team I picked when I started watching baseball more than a year ago. They are my favorites.
The Braves happen to be on a lot where I live. I was indifferent until I started really watching and getting to know the team (some of whom I’d like to know much more personally). And it turns out they’re just as much fun to watch. Plus, the games come on at a reasonable hour in this time zone.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
so you're a relatively new fan to both?
''We cover the outfield like kudzu covers the land around here" - Bobby Cox, 2004
That’s right. But I’m a quick study. I’ve learned a tremendous amount over the past season-and-a-half.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
No, definitely. You seem well versed and never struck me as a “rookie” (not that being a rookie is bad.) Good stuff :-)
''We cover the outfield like kudzu covers the land around here" - Bobby Cox, 2004
Fortunately, my humor — the same thing that saved me from many a trash can in high school — plays well here, too. It’s just a lot of fun. Most of the time.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.

That rare extra effort, quick-witted, innuendo-laced, author/composer-referenced stuff is right up my alley

It was cancelled in 1999. But I have my old home recordings and the DVD sets that have been released since.
Also, I note you’re a UF student. One of my closest friends is a Gator, which he always gets hell for here at UA.
I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.
Yeah
I’m on the 7 year plan. And I’ve been in their band that long too (cheapest way for tickets) so that’s why I’ve self-proclaimed my band-geeked-ness. I’ll have to check out the MST3000 dvd sets. I definitely miss that show!
