Would you believe me if I said that Martin played the outfield? Of course you wouldn't. But it is true that he has. He acutually played a few games over the past few years in the outfield. It's amazing to see how he can play a position that he probably never had to practice.
In 2008, when the Braves were 72-90, someone probably got injured and, in a last minute pinch, Cox threw Prado in left field. He started 3 games and played 23 innnings, and had 7 putouts. He was 2-for-12 hitting, and had a .334 OPS. In 2009, when the Braves were taking a shot at the wildcard, Prado was in right field for just 2 innings of a game, hitting a double in his only at-bat with a 3.000 OPS.
Martin also played shortstop in 2008, when he started 2 games and played a total of 15 innings. He had 2 putouts, 2 assists, and made 1 error, and turned a double play.
Would you ever want Prado to play the outfield again? If so, how do you think he would do? This is a post just for fun to see something we didn't know.
