i thought he was out for six weeks? is he having surgery?

His injury is worse than first reported

He has a ligament tear (small, but worse than a strain). We don’t know if he’s going to need surgery, but either way I doubt he pitches this year.

Braves bullpen is better, and better managed this year than is the Phils. No argument there.

by Bilzo on Aug 16, 2010 9:27 PM EDT up reply actions

i don't know how much better managed ours has been

when you use a SP twice (that i can recall) in relief in between starts, regardless of days between starts. not to mention the OVER USE of moylan, venters, EOF, etc. their arms are about to fall off.

While Lidge has been the suck the past couple years, he did almost win a WS trophy by himself and has yet to leave a wake of angered clubhouses.

by Bilzo on Aug 16, 2010 9:26 PM EDT up reply actions

um

Are you saying Wagner has left a wake of angered clubhouses? Because he’s been a great guy here.

Cox probably runs a tighter ship, but this is something that you can’t evaluate until either….
1) the team implodes
2) he leaves.

I haven't heard anything about him being a bad influence in the past

the catcher always tackles the charger from behind. taking him out early is key to any good mound invasion/field brawl
