I'll just let this one explain itself:
Lefty reliever Javier Lopez has done an excellent job since the Giants traded for him. Through Monday, he had not allowed a run and retired 13 of his 16 hitters. He cannot, however, gun down a potential base-stealer from home plate, though longtime Atlanta Braves catcher Javy Lopez could 28 percent of the time.
Aside from their names and nationality - both were born in Puerto Rico - there is no relation, but some folks do not seem to understand that they are not the same guy.
"I get a lot of 'welcome backs' when I go to Atlanta," said Lopez the Giant, who has not donned a Braves uniform in his eight-year major-league career. [...]
Javier Lopez still gets Javy Lopez cards in the mail even though the latter retired in 2006.
"I usually send them back with a note," the new Giant said. "I really love it when you're a pitcher and they send you a card with a picture of a catcher."
Anyone else think we should cut education in Georgia?
