Crowded Outfield in Gwinnett - vote in the poll
Hello Braves fans!
It looks like the Gwinnett Braves have a full roster in the outfield, even with Mitch Jones sold to the Pirates, and Jordan Schafer's recent demotion to AA. Here's a look at the current roster:
Josh Anderson: seems to be having an off-year, with injuries. Wasn't he in the running for the starting CF position in Atlanta in 2009?
Willie Cabrera: just called-up from AA. Deserving, but where do you put him?
Nate McLouth: looks like he can hit AAA pitching - but making a big-league salary!
Wilkin Ramirez: Wren went out and got him, so there must be some game there.
Willy Taveras: a reclamation project with speed and major-league experience.
Matt Young: lots of hits, but has he reached his ceiling?
So - check-out the poll - who is in the best position to play for the Atlanta Braves - say, within the next 12 months?

This isn’t even a crowd. Matt Young has basically become the everyday second baseman. McLouth is going to play CF every day. Taveras is buried on the bench because he’s hitting closer to .100 than .200. Josh Anderson is on the DL. That leaves Ramirez to play RF and Cabrera to play LF. Not much of a logjam.

If Clevlen clears waivers,...
I’d assume he takes one of the corners (and Tavares gets cut). And it’s hard to play Young at 2B everyday with Timmons, Thurston, Hernandez, and Hicks splitting time around the IF.
I agree with what cb said, it’s not really a crowd for many reasons. I want to see Cabrera and Young in Atlanta.

Ramirez
14 2B, 6 3B, 19 HR and 12 stolen bases, thus far this season. I like these numbers.
" Coming into this series I really expected an easy sweep for the Reds. The Braves have been just awful lately, especially offensively."

Wouldnt mind
seeing Matt Young up here while if Prado goes on the DL. Unfortunately I doubt he would play every day.
