The Braves' Trio Of Superb Lefties
Over at SB Nation Atlanta, I take a look at the Braves' three fantastic lefties--Wagner, Venters, and O'Flaherty--and compare their ranks to all lefty relievers in baseball. Hint: they compare very well.

It's not just the lefties, it's the entire bullpen.
They are 14th in MLB in IP out of 30 teams. In other words, they pitch an average amount of innings. They are 15th in BABIP, meaning they aren’t really getting extraneous amounts luck of either the good or bad variety. And yet….
They are 2nd in Ks.
They have the 5th best ERA (i know, i know, ERA is the devil….)
2nd Best in both FIP and xFIP
6th Best WHIP
2nd Best SLG (Meaning they dont give up too many XBHs)
3rd Best BAA
Tied for Best K/9 Rate with the Padres
5th Best K/BB Rate
You know, if you weren’t for the Padres, you could at least make a decent case that the Braves have the best bullpen in baseball (I’d personally take the Rays pen over the Braves but that’s a discussion for another time). But I guess you’ll just have to settle for one of the best.
Obligatory reference to how bobby can't manage a bullpen
