Braves Sign Five More International Free Agents

Via Bill Shanks at Fox Sports South, here are a few additional international players the Braves have signed. I'm pretty sure none of them are top international signings like the signing of Mauricio Cabrera earlier in the week.

Oriel Caicedo – LHP – Panama – 16 – 6’0" 165

Caicedo has a fastball in the 86-89 mph range, with a three-quarters curveball. He’s got a loose arm with a good delivery, and Caicedo has good command of both pitches.

Johan Camargo – INF – SS – Panama – 16 – 6’0" 175 – R/R

Camargo is a shortstop that could move over to third base or a corner outfield spot down the road. He’s an offensive player with a short stroke. He runs well and has good hands.

Jordan Jimenez – OF – Panama – 16 – 6’0" 180 – R/R

Jimenez is a good athlete that can run. He’s an infielder now by was signed to play outfield. Possibly a true CF. He has an average arm.

Jesus Cambuston – RHP - Mexico – 16 – 6’0" 175

Cambuston has a fastball in the 88-92 mph range. He also has a changeup. He throws with a good downward plane.

Jose Morel – OF – Dominican Republic – 6’1" 185 – B/R

Morel has a chance to be a good corner outfielder, probably a RF. He can run and shows a good bat.

The Braves are trying to make three additional signings official. Once they complete those deals they will be at 11 signings, one shy of the maximum of 12 that can be signed in this period.

I'd like one more top international guy, just for good measure.

Math question...

he said 3 more, once official, makes 11. That would mean there are 2 others that haven’t been mentioned, since 3 + these 5 + Cabrera only = 9, not 11.

Yeah, in typical BS fashion you’re supposed to just know everything that has happened up to this point. Why would he bother linking to a previous post or mentioning the other names in the post? All that would be too easy.

Doesn’t Salcedo count?

Don't think so...

in Shanks’ article about Cabrera, he said 11 signed and he’d discuss the others shortly. I tried to keep an eye out for the others, and these 5 are the first I’ve noticed since the original release of Cabrera’s name. I never saw anything other than him, and now these 5.
