Myrtle Beach Pelicans 7/3/10, Julio Teheran Start
I'm at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans game tonight -- still here actually. I had a chance before the game to do a pretty extensive interview with Mycal Jones, which I will hopefully be able to transcribe and post later this week. I was pretty excited to see Julio Teheran pitch -- especially for a last minute trip like this. He was pretty good. He had his fastball and curve working pretty well, though he didn't seem to use the curve all that much. He seemed to fall in love with his changeup, which he looked to be occasionally telegraphing. Teheran took the loss and is now 3-3 in the Carolina League.
His line was 5.0 I 2 H 2 R 2 ER 4 BB 6 K 0 HR.
The Pelicans were shut on only 3 H, including a 2B by Cory Harrilchak, playing CF and batting 3d in the lineup.

Joe Leonard made his professional debut at 3B and batting 3d for Danville. Went 1 for 3 with a 2B, a run scored, a RBI and 2 K.
