1 year/$1.75M (2010)
signed by Atlanta as a free agent 1/5/10
$0.25M roster bonus for 100 days on active 25-man roster
performance bonuses: $0.35M each for 400, 450, 500 PAs; $0.4M for 550 PAs; $0.55M for 600 PAs
http://mlbcontracts.blogspot.com/2005/01/atlanta-braves_15.html
So he’s got his 2m, .35 × 3 = 1.05, so add the .4 and .55 and that’s a total of 4 max. He’s still at 2 now, but should get the 400 plate appearances in the next few games.

He's a flyball hitter
Tends to cut down on the DPs.
There was a study someone did about variables involved in hitting into double plays, and it turns out the variably most associated with double-playing is batting right-handed.
Yeah, I thought so
There’s a lot of spoilers involved in the data set. One thing that you’d mentally associate with grounding into double plays is being a groundball hitter, but there’s lots of speed guys like Ichiro and Juan Pierre and Scott Podsednik (et all) who put the ball on the ground a lot and don’t hit into many double plays.
This is making me nervous. I have seen so many strikeouts looking by the Marlins that haven’t been called, and it makes it hard to be confident that we can keep them from scoring.

Sharks have a week dedicated to Jason Heyward.
two top 10 prospects at the end of the year?
Teheran and Freeman? Maybe 3 if Delgado has the amazing slider he’s about to bust loose like PWHjort alludes.
If he ends the year, at 20 in AAA...
with an avg say 300-310+, with over an .850 ops and 20-25 HR, I think he might
There's more to those projections than just numbers
And people just won’t think Freeman is a super elite prospect at first base unless they think he has 40 HR potential. There’s plenty of doubt in that regard.
Sure...
but damn if that isn’t promising Bronn, and you could argue 30+ HR projection off that. Chipper wasn’t hitting as many in the minors and he got 40+, without the frame Freddie has.
no way delgado or freeman break the top 10
but freeman will be top 25 and maybe delgado

those two rip up AA, and Freeman stays hot down the stretch for 20-25+ HR, 300+, over 850 ops, and great D.

I’d love it, but I don’t think it’s happening.

It’s best to avoid making a move for the sake of JUST making a move.
I think Soriano for Lowe and McLouth improves us right now.
Soriano > McLouth, and Lowe gets replaced by Kenny, who is his equal.
You see the fallacy you're making?
Soriano doesn’t play center, so he’s not taking McLouth’s playing time, he’s taking Hinske’s and Diaz’s, and it’s a less significant improvement.

It's been fun!
Wait, no it hasn’t. Hope the rest of the road trip goes better than this, and that Mclouth and Chavez aren’t on the team by the time we come back home.
Bobby blew this one
he makes way to many changes and leaves us with garbage in extra innings. no reason to pinch run for hinske with a runner in front of him. mclouth isnt even a defensive upgrade. and worst of all, we were losing at the time. you don’t make defensive swaps when you’re losing. and the chavez decision is incomprehensible.
Well, he certainly didn't manage his best game
Pinch running for McCann cost us since Diaz was quickly caught stealing, and then we had the pitcher on deck in that 11th instead of Mac (not that it mattered). Pinch running for Hinske really did hurt us because we didn’t score out of that, and as a result, we had McLouth up instead of Hinske in the 11th. And then instead of using Wagner in the 11th, he used Chavez.
i'm not blaiming him for non-execution
i’m blaming him for making a few bad decisions at the end of the game. he over-managed this one.
Held 'em from the 4th inning - but LOB and lack of hitting with RISP failed us again.

Wagner blown 2 games and McLout 1
Stop whining already.
Only the second series loss in 20 something series and you guys wont just take it as it is, a series that we fell behind in each three games battled back but only came away with one game. Did we play horrible? No,but we didnt exactly play well. And i may be alone but ill take this McLouth over the one two months ago. At least this one makes contact and hits more than infield flys. That DP was a little unlucky and yet only one of you have even mentioned the fact McLouth squared that ball up.

I can see why people are tired of it but look at J-Hey. It took him an entire series of play till he started producing again. And I honestly think that hits will start coming for McLouth since he is making more contact since returning.
