This is one of those stories that is just awful all around.

Carl Crawford was on 1B in the first inning when the pitcher's pick-off throw hit him squarely between the legs. As an outfielder, Crawford was not wearing a cup and therefore it was pure ball-to-ball contact. After rolling around on the ground for a bit, Crawford limped off the field.

It has been stated that he may have a ruptured testicle, which if this is true he may have to miss as much as 6 weeks to let it heal. 

I really hope it turns out to be nothing serious, because what an awful way to hit the DL. As a sports fan, and even more so as a man, this whole situation is painful to see.
