nope, not a one. Why on earth would a gay man enjoy a sport with men standing around in tight pants?

by Mr. Sanchez on Jul 18, 2010 2:20 PM EDT up reply actions

To be fair, I don’t watch baseball for the guys. I like it because it’s an engaging sport and it’s a lot of fun to watch and discuss.

I can think of all manner of sports that have attractive men as players, but I don’t watch them. To me, it’s about what you’re getting out of the experience, not necessarily ogling for nine innings.

I picked the wrong day to quit sniffing Matt Cain.

But, if you can watch a sport you already enjoy – and there is some eye candy thrown in – that’s a great bonus. Not ashamed to admit I look (and often) and miss the tight unis.

I know we have Diaz and he is doing his job but our lineup really looks bad against lefties

Mac, J-Hey, Hinske almost become useless. And it seems like our righties struggle against them also. That’s why I shudder to think of playing the Yanks in the WS.

Might not be that bad in the playoffs, check this out. Of the teams currently in the playoff picture, here is the lefties they have to offer that are likely to pitch in a 5 or 7 game series:

Reds: Travis Wood is their only lefty, and he isn’t likely to be in their top 3 starters
Cardinals: Jaime Garcia – likely would get a start as their #3 guy
Padres: Only left is Clayton Richard, he would probably only get a start in a 7 game series
Phillies: Moyer and Hamels. Hamels will get 2 starts, Moyer probably one
Mets: Santana and Niese are in their top 3 (barring a Maine recovery). Not clear what role Oliver Perez will have
Giants: Zito, Bumgarner, and Sanchez. Lots of lefties, but Cain and Lincecum will get 2 starts each.
Rockies: De La Rosa and Francis
Dodgers: Kershaw gets 2 starts.

So it looks like from the lefty standpoint, we match up best with the Reds and Padres. For a lot of reasons, I think we would be happy with either of those two (as opposed to the Phillies or Cardinals)

I don’t dislike him either, but I’m not going to lie. It annoys me to see players struggle for us and not do anything for half a season, then go to a new team and tear it up. It annoyed me when Francouer did it last year.

I mean for crying out loud he was our MVP last year, and has a bad half. So therefore it is time to trade him

I really don’t see how that’s any different from a sac fly, which is considered a good way to score a run. And, with this type of play, he still has a chance to beat it out, and almost did.

The difference is

on a sac fly is that he doesnt barely hit it…

He is trying to hit a sac fly…

He is not trying to chop it right in front of the pitcher

That wasn’t really what his comment said, though. There’s only one crappy way to score a run that I can think of, and that is to hit into a double play.

We went on a good streak of offense after Prados blast in Milwaukee.. The same can be said for the come back against the reds and brooksies slam.. This second half is going to be amazing :-)

Went something like this....

The other day, after the game, BMac was leaving and came across camera equipment guy (I think) putting stuff away. He realized he (BMac) had forgotten something in the clubhouse and asked if he could borrow the cart (golf) to go back and get it because he was really tired/exhausted.

The guys says he can’t give him the cart, but he’ll take him back and forth. The guy gives him a ride back to the clubhouse. BMac goes inside to get what he forgot and while there, he took the time to go to the bat rack, get a bat and autograph it for the guy and gave it to him for his trouble.

I am just pointing out the fact

That the only realistic way we dump either of those guys is to take more salary on in return…

Because Guitterez is cheaper than both of them, and better. so it makes no sense to move him.

More than likely to move Nate/Melky it would have to be like for an Alfonso Soriano type contract

A warning for that? He get grazed by an inside pitch. I’d argue umps are more responsible for the types of reactions we get these days than anything else. Players aren’t afraid of inside pitching anymore and take offense when a pitcher comes in. Just plain ridiculous. I wonder how Nolan Ryan would have handled that situation last night.
