Been running the numbers since the Braves' run began at the end of April. They have put up impressive team numbers as a team hitting (5.00 runs/game) and pitching (3.58 runs allowed/game). However, their records in certain situation are impressive. They're 29-1 during that stretch when scoring at least 5 runs, and won 26 such games before suffering their first such loss 9-6 June 22nd against the White Sox. They're 10-6 when scoring 4 runs, and 4-2 when scoring 3. Not bad. They haven't been on the right side of any 1-0 wins, but when they score runs like they've been, that's okay. They just tossed their third shutout in this stretch, and have been shutout themselves twice. Their 9-game win streak ended long ago, however, they are still red-hot. In their last 49 games, they are 34-15. Should they finish the Mets off with a sweep tomorrow, they will be winning at a .700 clip for almost a third of a season. And the keys to success? Do well in close games. They're 11-8 in 1-run games. That will help them the far side of the all-star break.
