Great Idea
I love this new idea!
I really enjoy all of the minor league coverage that the site is including.
What does 2011s rotation look like?
JJ
Hanson
Huddy
Medlen/KK
Minor
I would like to see Lowe moved, but of course that is unlikely. Also Meds has shown in his brief stint so far that he is ready for a spot in the rotation.
I Agree
I understand that KK is suppost to be our life line to the japanese communities, but Medlen has earned a spot over him. And yeah Lowe, I think, is gonna stick around for the entire life of his contract unfortunately.
Also first time poster here ha

Strasburg thread
i wish it was a better team that could light him up
We have traded away great players for less than nothing and let Texierra walk away, and much much more so pray that Hayward is sent from God and that his energy can ignite the veterans and cause the younger players to hustle more and play winning baseball...
Lucky for me, I live in the area, and get MASN2 HD, although, unlucky for me, Rob Dibble does the announcing. He is by far THE worst/most biased announcer ever. EVER.
I don't know shit about baseball.
Worse than Joe Morgan?

But when he face the Braves, he gotta be careful.

No
But I’d like to see him succeed. He’s great for baseball in Washington, and by all accounts he’s got a good head on his shoulders and isn’t overbearingly cocky.

I'm really mad Heyward isn't getting a day off.
It’s not like he just has a sore thumb but he is ice cold. Anyone else this cold is would get a day off. I know a day off isn’t gonna cure his thumb but at least give him a day to rest it and take is mind off hitting because he isn’t doing much off it right now.

My prediction
before the debut they’ll retire strasburg’s number right after giving him his 10 cy awards and 10 mvp awards, NLDS mvp, NLCS Mvp and world series mvp. He’ll throw a perfect game through nine, but the nationals will not score any runs. Bill Hohn and Joe west will be umpiring the game, and give the Pirates a free run just cause. Strasburg gets the loss.

True or False...
Nats will pull SS after 5, the fans boo, then realize they’re watching the Nationals and leave.
Leake would be in AA for the Braves as well
The Reds NEEDED him in their rotation.
Tony Gwynn is the best thing that could've happened to SS.

one word,
Hanley Ramirez with Stanton hitting behind him. Best 3-4 combo with Cantu at 5. Plus they’ve got 5 legitimate starters and a decent bullpen
they’re build for the long stretch of a season much like the braves
phils have too many weaknesses excluding their hitters. they have no bench, bullpen or depth behind halladay and hamels
i agree about the phillies
but i think you overestimate the marlins pitching. johnson is a legit ace, and sanchez and volstad are a good 2-3, but that’s it. hanley and cantu are legit, but stanton is unproven and will K a lot this year, and most likely the future. their bottom of the lineup (6-7-8-9) and their leadoff spots aren’t very decent right now.
IMO, cody ross and dan uggla are good ball players, we’ll agree to disagree on that
stanton will strike out alot but will also score alot of runs and hit alot dingers
i re-read your post
are you saying you are scared of the marlins b/c of their future? if you say the marlins might be a bigger threat in the NL east in the near future than, say, the phillies, i’ll agree with you there.

why do batters place their front foot further away from the plate than their back foot? seems like a detriment to hitting pitches away…

Stras can throw all his pitches for strikes
FB up to 101 on more than one occasion according to homer gun
Fairly generous strike zone tonight for both pitchers

yes, SS can throw his pitches for strikes
but he was getting greedy a little bit throwing a breaking ball right down the middle of the plate and giving up a home run
