Braves Pitcher James Parr Has Tommy John Surgery
From the Gwinnett Daily Post:
James Parr bypassed surgery last season and was able to return to the mound. But the Gwinnett Braves’ opening night starter wasn’t able to avoid it this year.
Dr. James Andrews performed reconstructive elbow surgery on the right-hander late last week and Parr will be sidelined until at least the middle of next season.
Parr was removed from the 40-man roster in mid-May to make room for Brent Clevlen, and I guess now we know why. While Parr wasn't that much of a prospect, he was still a pitcher who showed some ability to pitch in the big leagues. I expect to see him join the Royals rotation in a few years, and I wish him the best in his rehab.

I don't know why...
But everytime I see Tommy John surgery, I think it’s referring to Tommy Hanson.
That’s got to stop…
