Open Thread 6/5: Braves at Dodgers #2
The Braves are swinging like it's April again. Nate McLouth can't field OR hit. Tommy Hanson has been a bit wild, but is keeping his team in the game.
Dodgers lead 2-0 in the 5th.
Runz for the Braves thread!

Question, this little bump in the road of our scoring...
is it attributed to:
1. Their pitching
2. Our offense
3. We need a day of rest

Kershaw was dealing last night in parts of the game and Broxton is just unhittable.
Billingsley has had a sharp curve tonight and can throw it for strikes, makes him a bit tougher.

It's hard to say what's been most impressive. The seamless jump from AA? The ability to hit for average? The ability to hit for power? The 18 walks in 111 trips to the plate? The flair for the dramatic? When you're trying to isolate the most impressive aspect of Jason Heyward's game, there's a lot to choose from, and it's only been a month and a half.
Right now, Furcal, at their best, Furcal, for the future, Escobar.

I’m being serious. I didn’t like the fact he bunted when it happened but in hindsight it worked out beautifully.
MUST RECONFIGURE STRIKEZONE PARAMETERS TO ACCOUNT FOR FALLIBLE HUMAN UMPIRE - CyborgHanson48
Well, it worked in the sense that he didn’t hit into a double play, and one out is better than two, but there’s a lot of ways he could have achieved that. And he had better than a 1 in 3 chance of reaching base safely in his own right and loading the bases or driving in runs himself.
That was a stupid sacrifice, even in hindsight.
Our bats were sick all night up until that point. Bobby was playing it safe.
MUST RECONFIGURE STRIKEZONE PARAMETERS TO ACCOUNT FOR FALLIBLE HUMAN UMPIRE - CyborgHanson48
And we followed it up with 5 straight men reaching
including a home run. It took Yunel grounding into a double play to end the inning, and we basically gave them one out.
Could you imagine facing this guy after facing a Schilling, Smoltz or Johnson?
It's hard to say what's been most impressive. The seamless jump from AA? The ability to hit for average? The ability to hit for power? The 18 walks in 111 trips to the plate? The flair for the dramatic? When you're trying to isolate the most impressive aspect of Jason Heyward's game, there's a lot to choose from, and it's only been a month and a half.

Hey it's the poor man's manny
It's hard to say what's been most impressive. The seamless jump from AA? The ability to hit for average? The ability to hit for power? The 18 walks in 111 trips to the plate? The flair for the dramatic? When you're trying to isolate the most impressive aspect of Jason Heyward's game, there's a lot to choose from, and it's only been a month and a half.
FUGA is going to hit a professional 8-run walk-off.

Quickly
Figure out how we can blame a strikeout/passed ball and an infield hit on Bobby Cox’s bullpen management!
Cox
