Keith Law's updated top 25 prospects
Includes Teheran (11th) and Vizcaino (19th). Delgado gets mentioned at the bottom. And if you are wondering, Teheran is ranked behind Martin Perez, Aroldis Chapman, Jeremy Hellickson, and Casey Kelly among pitchers. So, as good as he is, he isn't the greatest pitching prospect in baseball...yet.
UPDATE: This is insider only, sorry that I didn't mention that before if you weren't able to get to the link. Selected quotes below.
11. Julio Teheran, RHP, Atlanta. A big fastball, a plus change and an improved breaking ball have helped him dominate at two levels this year -- and it's not just being in pitcher-friendly Myrtle Beach. Six of the nine Colombians to reach the big leagues came from Cartagena -- as does Teheran. I'm still waiting for our first prospect from Macondo. Previous ranking: No. 63
19. Arodys Vizcaino, RHP, Atlanta. He's producing outstanding numbers so far with a plus fastball/above-average curve and a very low-effort delivery. Previous ranking: No. 43
and under the "Why Not Section"
Randall Delgado? Total package doesn't have the big upside of Teheran, and he's not as polished as Vizcaino

I'm not an insider
can some one like copy and paste the whole thing as a comment please…
OJ didn't do it
That is discouraged here...
if not prohibited.

uh...
What you asked “some one” to do….?
You know, to copy & paste an entire article as a comment…?
Remember?
Or better yet, you could look directly above my comment, and see what “what is”.

Awesome
Thanks for posting this.
Two pitchers in the top 20 and one that just missed the top 25? That’ll do.

Yep. Gotta love the Phillies for signing Raul Ibanez to that 3 year deal. Brown has no where to play and he’ll have a ton of pressure on him trying to replace Werth’s production next year.

Well...kind of
but think about all the rookies in baseball this year. The 2011 group of prospects won’t have a Heyward-type or Strasburg-type hitter or pitcher, but not many classes do. They’ll still have some really talented guys by the end of the year though, just like always.

Ackley isn’t having a good season either. Besides walking a lot, he isn’t doing much of anything.

He looked very overmatched when I saw him. They would have been much better off letting him go and dominate the California League to build a ton of confidence then promote him to the Southern League, which is hard to hit in.

I thought so too. That’s a huge jump to make from college ball to the Southern League.

So where's Freddie Freeman?
is this a list of the 25 best prospects or 25 best years thus far?
I think Freddies definitely one of the top 25 prospects if Vizcaino is on the list
This stuff is so subjective
that's my point
is this a product of this season or 25 best prospects overall?
Obviously Julio and Arodys have had better seasons but Freddies been injured and starting to hit again. He is one of the best prospects in the game overall even though he’s having a down season. Much like how Jesus Montero, Dustin Ackley and Grant Green are top 25 players even though they’re not having great seasons

you overrate freddie, hope you’re not expecting adrian gonzalez out of him

When Adrian Gonzalez was 20 he was playing in AA and hit .266 with a .781 OPS and 34 doubles, 17 homers, 96 RBI, 54 BB, and 112 K. And he had a lot higher expectations being the number 1 overall pick in 2000.
As a 20 year old in AAA, Freddie is hitting .279 with a .811 OPS, and 19 doubles, 8 homers 41 RBI, 22 BB, and 39 K. If you extrapolate his numbers to the end of the year (taking into account the percentage of his team’s games he’s played in) he’d have 35 doubles, 15 homers, 75 RBI, 40 BB, and 71 K.
Granted, Freddie has time to slump and make his numbers look worse, but he also has time to keep being hot and make them better. At the end of the day, a 20 year old Freddie Freeman has a chance to have a pretty similar season to a 20 year old Adrian Gonzalez, only at a higher level.

His recent power surge has to be extremely encouraging
just maybe he’ll be ready for next year after all.

Seriously. I’m not sure if there is another 20 year old in AAA, and if there is he definitely isn’t playing as well. It’s a prospect list, not an All-Star team.

At the start of the year...
http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/prospects/?p=8215
Jesus Montero for the Yankees was a few months younger, and the only other 20 year old in the IL when they opened play. (And Freddie has put up better #s this year than Montero.) Not sure if anyone has been called up who would be younger.
by Mr. Sanchez on Jun 30, 2010 12:44 PM EDT up reply actions
Montero really could have benefited from being n AA this year. He’s a good player, but not as elite as everyone thinks. Plus, his attitude stinks. Kind of can’t wait for Austin Romine to jump him and take the Yankees catcher job.
