Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll

"Where the where is the confidence poll," you might ask. Our little Atlanta Braves Fan Confidence Poll has been "borrowed" by SB Nation... for all the SB Nation team sites (that have regional hubs). That's right, our FCP was so successful for the past two years that the powers that be noticed it and adopted it network wide. (Not that it was really my idea, mind you, I "borrowed" it myself.)

So where is it? It's not in this post, you'll have to go to the Talking Chop front page and look on the left just under the logo. Slide that little bar to the appropriate level and click OK. There is an added element of suspense now since you won't be able to see any results until later in the week.

Another added element is that there will be FCP's for every Atlanta team blog. So if you liked or hated the Hawks or Thrasher's draft, head over to Peachtree Hoops and Bird Watchers Anonymous and vote in their polls (and go to SB Nation Atlanta for full coverage of both drafts). The results will be tallied on SB Nation Atlanta. (And I've been told that all of our old results for the Braves will get loaded in to the poll and the graph.)

Update... as I scroll to the bottom of the editor page. I have the option to include it in this post... but that would be too easy right? If you're viewing this post on its own, then you will see the poll in the post, if you're viewing it from the front page, then it will be on the left. Oh well, just note that it will always be available to you on the left. Technology.

Yeah…I don’t like whatever you did with the poll. It says I voted, but if I did I have no idea what number I voted. Maybe its just me, but I bet the results are way different this week from what they’ve been being, and it won’t be because the Braves had a rough week.

I think increasing the number of voters outside of the loyalists here...

skews it down. I’m guessing 80=8, 70=7, etc as for what number you’re voting.

I agree

I’m also tech challenged, that said, I had no problems voting. I clicked on the 8th line, it then showed me I was voting 80, which I assume is equal to the 8 that I continue to vote. I then hit vote and voted. If I can do it anyone can.

Going down.......

I liked the old way better where you could see results immediately.

I gave the team a bonus last week for beating the Rays and Twins and voted 9 instead of my previous 8. This week I have to take the bonus back and further penalize them for poor play vs Chicago and Detroit. I voted 7 (70%).

Yeah

That kinda sucked. SBN notices TC having great success, tons of participation, so what do they do…change stuff. Typical mistake of growth, assume change will not turn off participants.

I'm pretty sure...

I just voted zero in error.

Ha!

No, I saw the widget and just clicked on it, thinking it would take me to the poll. Instead it must have registered my vote as whatever was the default, which I’m thinking was at the left end of the scale.

Exactly what happened to me!

I hit vote thinking it would take me to a multiple choice screen but alas, I think I voted a 3 as well. Oops. Oh well, NEXT TIME!

Glad you laughed.

After posting it I felt like an ass as it sort of sounded like I was taking a personal swipe at you. I wasn’t, believe me. The joke was aimed more at the breakdown in the technology/information link. It is a different way to vote that what we’re used to and I’m not so sure I like the change (old fogey, here). But I’m a technical person professionally and one of the atypical “guys” that will actually read the directions first. Gondee did say in the post how to use the widget.

People are voting zero in error...

God help us if we start voting zero for real…I wonder if there is a team out there that fans have zero confidence in…Heck, I would even give the Orioles and Pittsburgh a 1 or 2…Right? Maybe not.

I’d give them both a 2. At least they’ll get high draft picks, right?

That guy claims to be a "cynic"...

I just find him irritating and uninformed. Hanson has been getting “knocked around” for the majority of the season? Really? It may fit his story, but fortunately it’s just not so.

Glad to see that you’re such a trend setter. Sorry I couldn’t attend the Atlanta launch party, sounds like a good time was had by all.

You're probably right.

From the feedback, I hope this week’s results get tossed as a statistical anamoly, or for the technical reasons. Whichever.
