With Rick Porcello recently sent down by the Tigers, they've called up LHP prospect Andy Oliver to start against us on Friday. According to foxsports.com's Jon Paul Morosi, he's 6-4 with a 3.61 ERA in 14 starts at Double-A Erie "numbers [that] are more impressive when considering that Erie plays its home games in a hitter-friendly ballpark." The TIgers had talked about him in recent weeks as a guy who might soon be ready for the bigs despite the fact that he's never pitched above AA. With a typically lefty-heavy lineup (and a .500 record against southpaws compared to .646 against righties), it seems like a smart time to give the kid a chance. How does TC think we'll fare against the young Detroit pitcher getting his first taste of the bigs?
