Two Braves Prospects In MLB All-Star Futures Game
Mike Minor and Julio Teheran make the MLB All-Star Futures Game rosters. Great for both of these guys to be thought of so highly... though it's not a reach for either. Former Braves prospect Gorkys Hernandez also makes the team.

The dude makes it every year and hasn’t done much of anything since 2008.

I was thinking the exact same thing. He’s had 2 straight sub-par seasons and has made 2 straight Future’s Games.

This is why they call it the "Futures" game
and not the “Top Prospects” game. Many of the players aren’t even great prospects, they’re just guys that have high profiles (in Gorkys’ case, because he’s been a part of 2 high-profile trades) or token picks so that each org is represented.
Minor and Teheran are beyond deserving, of course.

Is he not doing well in the Majors? Cause when I saw him last year in AAA he was pretty great. He was definitely one of the better players I saw all season. I certainly thought more of him than Desmond Jennings.

Sucks that only two per team can play. Vizcaino and Delgado were both well deserving.
I think you can put more stock in his minor league career than his Futures game performance.

The Carolina California all star game is on fss (646) on directv starting at seven thirty. Hopefully all three of the Braves pitchers in the game will get in.
