This is my first time posting but I've been a reader for about a year now. I was wondering if anyone else had the idea that I had: Was Chipper going to retire allowing someone else to replace him within the organization or perhaps letting the team go out and trade for a 3B to help with the stretch run? To be honest, I think that Chipper could be a good clubhouse/bench guy. I also like his leadership out on the field and having his bat in the lineup is always good. I was wondering if anyone else had an idea as to what his retirement talk NOW is for. It really does no good to talk about it NOW unless you're going to step aside. He's already said that if he's unproductive he's going to hang up the cleats. He's hitting about as well as he was last year which leads me to believe that he's on his way out sooner rather than later. Again, I'm spit-balling and would like to know what the rest of the Braves universe thinks about it.
